another head scratching thing i have at the moment...

i need to sometimes send my ma a 130kb file...(so she can update her satellite box for sports :))....ive set up email and given her a (long) list of keys to press to get the attachment....but as shes getting frailer....am lookin for something easier...is there a way i can dial her phone and force a file over....orange cant seem to get mms to work with the bin file. and i need the file sent in its original format (rom_main.bin)...and shes absolutley plonkery at using a mobile lol...

kinda like using a terminal proggy on the phones to file transfer??

thanks guys...

Not quite sure what you specifically need. When you say you set up email for her, do you mean on her phone or on her home PC? If on her phone, what type of phone is it? The reason why I ask is because probably the easiest way that I know of would be for you to set up a Dropbox (http://www.getdropbox.com)account and store the .bin file in the public folder. Once there, you can get the public URL for the file and send it to her in a text and once she follows the link, the .bin file should start downloading automatically. This way all she has to do is check her text messages. Kinda like this:
Don't Worry, Be Happy (http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/893181/Kaiser/Ringtones/Dont_20Worry_20Be_20Happy.mp3)

shes got my old LG ke970 Shine....have set up and given instructions so she can keypress after keypress to collect the email attachment. works ok ..just lookin for something simpler...but i really suspect its impossible....she seems happy with all the keypresses, i think ill close this thread.....and leave her with the email collection setup....but thanks for reply
