I'm not a Wrecked Crew member, but I can tell that this guys have guts, they sometimes can play around a little bit someone but come on guys we are adults where's the sense of humor???

I was having a lot of problems with my G1, since I rooted it and changed a few files, when I need help to redo it I almost break it, so without alternative I add one of this fellow in my Gtalk and he helped me to fix my G1 now I have my celphone 100% operational again and with root access and running THEIR firmware, Even Jesus Freak awkward they. we cannot just ban someone because they are making a few jokes, I think what's matter in this forum is to help and create new stuff for smartphones, right? and this guys are doing their job very well!!!

I read the rules before I posted! Alot more people should or atleast read the thread page they are on, the anwser is generally in the first 3 pages when they wreck it. The wrecking crew has helped me alot and made me laugh alot. I have never seen them jack a thread that didnt deserve it.

With that being said, If you insist on disapllinary action give them a 3 day ban.

It is not about "a few jokes", jokes are appreciated, and I found some of them even funny.
The genuine help some of the "crew" gave was the reason their messing around was tolerated for so long.
A temp ban was given for deliberately ganging up towards n00bs, wrecking threads by flaming and bashing.
The XDA rules are clear about this (rule 2) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=263). And this behaviour could not be tolerated any further.

So the timeout is because some took it too far and crossed the line between funny and flaming.
Those members got a 2 week time-out (and where warned not to use sock-puppet accounts to post on the board, any violation of this warning would automatically turn the time-out into a perm ban).

Hope you understand the decision better now you know the details.

To be honest, I really had no wish to clean all posts up, just selected a few so I could mark the posters as spammers and give them an insta-ban (it is a shortcut that allows me to circumvent the tedious manual ban procedure via mod control panel and gives me access to ban a selection (or give them a time-out in this case).
So these few posts where not deleted because they where the only bad posts, but because for selecting the users (read abusers).
The threads have not been deleted so others could see how childish the whole hijacking was.

Regarding that that you thought the thread was a bait, well don't feed the troll, someone should have used the http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/xdabuttons/report.gif button to report the thread, and left it there.

Re gridlock:
again, don't act but REPORT the post or pm in question.
evry1sgirl was banned because she ganged up with others to "proudly wreck threads".
Using [img]http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/xdabuttons/report.gif[img] this button could have kept her out of trouble.
Regarding the other wrecking crew members that got a time-out, it wasn't the first time they intentionally ganged up.
