Hey Guys,

I notice that the HTC has a generic UBS connection. And shares the same connection type as my TomTom Car charger for my GPS system. I am wondering if I can use the charger for my phone without frying it?

Thanks :)

I use my TomTom one charger to charge my Touch XV6900 all the time also have used it on a 6800 that my wife has. Never had any problems myself. But it really has to do with the voltage that the charger supplies. The Motorola charger puts out on 3 volts when a usb supplies 5 volts and the HTC can charge on the 5 volts but not the other way around.

works like it was made for it. i use mine all the time.never had an issue.and means that i only need one cord in the car which is good with a miata :)

Just for the record; I used my Vogue with TomTom car charger, worked wonderfully well, atleast thats what I thought but I ended up destroying my mini usb connection on phone. Now I have to hold the original charger at a particular position or it wont charge!!

i would be cautious. im pretty sure all the USB plugs are wired the same- hence universal- i tried a charger i had laying around the house with a universal plug and similar voltages and it worked like a charm- once- then i tried it again and it wont recognize the charger for a charge- havent the slightest idea what is going on with it but i would suggest OEM car charger or power inverter (i have one in the car for my laptop)
