I don't know if its my prophet, but every now and then when I press the 'X' or exit an application, it vibrates... I thought it was a feature, but it happens randomly so I guess not? Do you know why this is?

Hi mister,

you are right. the vibration is the default setting of Showcasr. (default setting: 15ms for Tap and 30ms for Tap and Hold).

Please edit the registry to change vibration time

Hey havent tried this ROM yet.. Im still testing babak's 23075 and loving it..

from reading up on the different builds i learnt that 23502 is the first Com5 build to be leaked and is better than 23060 Com3..

but also that builds 23071 and upwards to 23081 are much faster and far more stable than 23060.. also these builds are actually newer than 23502 according to the dates they were compiled on..

Apparently, 23502 doesnt have the magnifier in the taskbar, and the buttons, checkboxes and scrollbars are old style compared to the newer ones such as in Com3 ~23071+.. dont know what other features are missing or added..

Those of you that have tried both babak's 23075 as well as Bikertibi's 23502 please share your thoughts? is 23502 faster/and more stable? How does it compare for you?

(P.s: I asking for comparison with babak's ROM because of the RAM is now the same as in bikertibi's 23502, so will give a better idea)

Perhaps a simple Google search would help. Here's what I've found using Google. Here is what’s new in this COM5 Build 23502 in comparison with COM4 Build 23060 of Windows Mobile 6.5:

- Bottom taskbar color is changed to Vista-like dark blue.
- Some GUI fixes for Volume Control.
- Graphically enhanced Scrollbars and checkboxes.
- Graphically enhanced buttons throughout the operating system.
- New and improved Contacts app which was first seen in Build 23412 (COM3 Branch).
- Kinetic flow (a la iPhone) at the start and end of any list view like in Contacts and File Explorer has been removed which is kind of a step down in my honest opinion.

Best explanation I can give is:

COM1- Builds 217**:

COM2 - Builds 218**: GUI is 1st stage of finger friendly features implemented. This is the only official WM6.5 released to public. All other COM* Builds are leaked test builds (not even classified as alpha or beta). In this range, the GUI introduces softer corners to various dialogs, the new start menu (Very early builds had a honeycomb theme but although the hexagons have been removed, the icon alignments remain), and the taskbar and menubar have been slightly modified to allow for further skinning.

COM3 - Builds 230**: GUI from 23001 to 23021 looks the same as COM2. 23022+ introduced the new shorter/expanding taskbar and finger friendly text-based buttons on taller bottom menubar and ever since its been called wm6.5.1 rather than 6.5..
23047+ introduced icon-based buttons.. New checkboxes and scroll bars and recently (from 23069 i think) a magnifier in the taskbar are amongst the newer gui elements introduced in the latest builds..
At some point (im not sure when, kinetic scrolling was introduced..
It appears that COM4 elements are being introduced into this branch such as the new contact application, a slightly modified sms application, and possibly a slightly modified calender application..

COM4 - Builds 234**: Seems to have stopped at 23420. The newer contact application and possibly the modified sms and calender applications were first introduced in this branch but have since been incoorperated into latest builds of COM3

COM5 - Builds 235**: At the moment little is known of this branch. 23502 is the first build leaked that Im aware of. It seems to have been compiled at about the same time as 23060 but with superior stability, speed, memory management, Newer COM3 builds 23071 and above have been reported to be superior in terms of stability and speed. However the latest COM5 23506 compared to COM3 23088 (build date is identical) seem equally fast and stable. COM5 builds have the new Contact app and Magnifier, as in latest COM3 Builds, but lack kinetic scrolling.
Apparently, the new internet explorer has been modified as well (but Bikertibi Builds have the old internet explorer from wm6.1 because new one does not handle well on our device)

Other branches you might or might not come to see:

AKU1 - Builds 212**
SAM1 - Builds 215**
MD1 - Builds 219**
WMD - Builds 28***: The First Build leaked is 28002 (build date 17th November 2009). As of this branch Windows Mobile is at WM6.5.3. This branch is to continue from COM3 23090 and is believed to carry improvements to the New Internet Explorer Mobile as well as overall speed

Builds 216**: leaked builds that have been played with by the team over at HTC but not officially used on any handset as yet
Builds 236**: Recently came across these builds but have no further info on them

Better integration with Manila 2.6 (HTC TouchFlo3D) from the upcoming HTC Leo (aka HD2).

Changes in Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 23060 and Build 23420:

Email folder in Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile gets new colored icons.
Improved browsing experience on Internet Explorer Mobile.

Faster boot time.
Build 23420 has the new contacts app.
Build 23060 has the menu eye candy but not the new contacts app.
Incorporates the updated GUI from the later COM3 builds into COM4.
Better memory management.

WM6.5.1 Build 23081

The guys over at Pocketnow have put up a video that shows the changes the new Windows Mobile 6.5 build comes around with, and you can see the clip at the bottom of this article. Some of these changes include much nicer check boxes throughout the operating system, a smoother scroll bar, as well as modifications to the button style. A few more details can be found on WMPoweuser, here.
At the same time, the new Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 23081 is also said to come with improvements in the contacts application and with some changes in the time stamping in the SMS app. Also worth mentioning here is a different “button in calendar that jumps to today.” Basically, it seems that the build is mainly focused on the visual appearance of the OS, and that there are no performance improvements worth being noted.

well, i don't use magnifier or stuff like that, no use for it and this is a really good rom, even if in any rom i have the lack of tweakes and reg fixes, at least this is the first rom with reg fix for encrypt of the sd card. And anyway keep up the good work, and some addons in my opinion is to be made as .cab separately. CHeers and good work with the best rom :) maybe after i will manage to have some time will make some cabs with lots of wm 6.5 reg tweaks.

Found a few bugs that sometimes go away after soft-resets

1. Vibrate when touching the bottom bar as people have stated here.

2. Dpad stopped functioning once

3. Right now the phone isnt working. The phone RADIO I mean. It was wroking before but that time the Dpad wasnt so I soft-reset.

Going to flash to something else probably to check if there is anything wrong in my fone

I'm currently using ur 21870 build, and its working great for me. I tried using some COM5 rom before and the experience is not all that great though, with the touch suite keyboard being too unresponsive and all... is this rom better than build 21870?

First of all, *MANY* thanks for *ALL* your work on our Prophet.
IMHO you are releasing ROM too fast, nobody in this forum needs (as they sometime say) every minor release you test.
Your time and your skill is very precious. For sure we can all help you. How?

1. Test all the ROM you want but don't tell us until you find a ROM worth to be published
2. Don't reply to all stupid questions that have replied many times, ignore them, here we can help you doing this job "Hard reset, set registry entry, download bla bla ..."
3. Collect every remarks, bugs, suggestions and, if YOU decide they are relevant, TRY to implement them in the next ROM and don't tell us if or when it will be implemented.
4. Ask our help with precise things. For example if you find a bug and think it may be related to registry entry, ask us to google for a possible solution.

Is not posible yet, because microsoft never made a win 6.5 or 6.1 in romanian language... You have to translate all .mui files from the rom to do this.

I don't have too much time to make this, but all of you, wich tested my rom's, can make reports about changes. I can report only new features added, and I think all are writen in first post.

Which version of 23504 you use? because I have installed green version on my phone and it have showcase... Clean versions don't have showcase....

Just to give an update about my problem, for other people with similar problems.

I've just uninstalled all titanium plugins (jmltoday, jlibrary etc.) and idialer, icontact etc. Then reinstalled them starting with titanium plugins (by first deactivating titanium) and others.

Now everything seems to work fine.

How to flash this ROM to my S200 G4 ?
Do I need to have MS ActiveSync installed ?
I connected the phone, runned "Prophet_Upgrade.exe" but it completes and nothing else happens ? The phone still uses exactly the same, older WM6.5 build (23004.5.0.1). It even completes when the phone isn't connected...

EDIT: I found out I had to flash it in XP. In Windows 7 the ROM Update Application crashes. It works fine now :)

About the ROM: Wauw :) The GUI is a lot nicer than in 23004. Thanks !!

I'm following your WM 6.5 threads lately and I am impressed with your work. Soon I will try this COM5 branch as I currently still stick with WM 6.1 d1 from dioxda2.

What do you mean by different reloc? I have never cooked ROM myself, but being a programmer since long time, I suppose that in the "kitchen" you have a way to relocate .dll and .exe start addresses so they don't overlap, which results in less work for the runtime dynamic linker? A little research showed two tools - greloc and wmreloc. What exactly are you doing differently? Can you point me to some resources on this topic?

I also saw babak00000 mentioning in his ROMs that they are optimized (Windows files optimized. (a fast ROM)) and I suppose he does the same thing.

These are the bugs/problems I found so far:

- Phone vibrates sometimes when closing an app or touching "OK"
- The "Bubble Breaker" game is missing.
- Receiving a file from another phone via Bluetooth doesn't work.
- Sometimes, pushing the "Camera" button, it says "Shortcut incorrect".

And I found a quite weird issue too:

In the Bluetooth-settings, touching the "OK" button doesn't work when you selected a custom BT-Sharing-folder (Browse...).
The strange thing is that the hardware "OK" button works flawlessly. Tested it various times, always the same results.

And, oh, is there a possibility to run the HTC TouchFlo3D-app on it ?

Go to: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Device Beta"
Change the keys "Expiry" and "Today" to anything you want.. or blank it out.. thats what I did.. I dont know what will happen if you delete these keys so I just chose to blank them out instead..

I flash this, it goes nicely to 100% and when phone restarts I'm stuck with the tri-color screen. Installed nvid_ruu and then tried again same problem. Tried lazy_tool, same tri-color screen after 100% is reached :(

I really respect Bikertibi's work, I just made a list of bugs to make his next ROM's even better. If I knew how to fix these problems, I would have done so and posted the solution here, but I don't know how to fix them, and the only thing you can do then, is to hope it will be fixed...

Vibration is not a bug! Is a feature of ShowCase. If you don't want to vibrate go to showcase tread and search wich registri have to modify.

I`ve tried downloading several times by several download managers.
And aslo i`ve tried to unpack the archive by winrar and 7zip - no way to do it because of an error.

BTW do anybody know how to make the bottom buttons squared (as in screenshot). The clean version comes with the circular ones :(. Is there any cab I can install?

Its a huge cab.. dont think can be uploaded to xda forum as attachment..
even if it could you wouldn't be able to download from your phone either because like you said.. ie is broken..

Now unless you talking about opera mini.. mini doesnt come as a cab.. it gets installed in a jbed.. so it comes as a jad and jar file.. also.. if you cant download this from the opera then once again you probably cant download from xda.. y.. because ie is broken.. so you'd have to use a pc anyway to transfer.. in which case you might as well download from the opera website for yourself..

I googled and googled and couldn't figure out the ie bug.. so my advice to those who desperately need ie working like i do.. is to switch to bikertibi's COM3 23088 build.. It has all the known features that this ROM has.. plus kinetic scrolling, its built on the same day as this ROM so its not newer nor older, its just as fast and I think even more stable, oh and lastly: ie works :)

There is a problem with "WM6.5.1_23506_bikertibi_green.rar" archive. Downloaded twice and always crc error is showing when i try to unpack archive. :(

You can actually delete the mentioned keys (Expiry and Today) without problems.

About IE:
It simply won't render the page. It loads the page but displays only a white page. I installed Opera 9.7 and it is running nicely. Actually I'm quite impressed as it's really fast. Much faster than IE6 and still has more functionality.

It stops people stealing your work as i have discovered many sites hosting mine and Bikertibi's ROMs with no mention of the original author ,I personaly wouldn't mind if they just mentioned the original authors username they know who they are as they must come here to do there Cut and Pasting :mad:

Haha.. ok i understand in those circumstances.. maybe someone could write a program for the end user to customise it after flashing.. i see a potential use for it to display owner contact details in the event of a lost phone.. majority of non-pocket pc users wouldnt know how to find owner information the normal way.. not something i'd do but its an idea..

You probably downloaded the clean version for this ROM.. it has usually has less apps installed.. Search the threads for an Esmertec Jbed cab file to install java apps.. I recommend "Cloudyfa's jbed" which is an old version of Esmertec but works well..

By the way.. Opera.com just released a new version 10 beta of Opera Mobile (not Mini).. Check it out!

This is my report, Bro.

In spite of the camera driver loading problem due to Babak's method, this rom is very stable. Problem was first found when prophet extrom2storage was installed. Can't enable the default image storage into storagecard, it was always run into extrom storage, and the cam always blinked when activated and died after shutted down (failed to restart before softreset). After trying to 'neutralize' the problem by installing wrong cabs (I forgot from where I download it weeks ago) the cam loading became more annoying and after booting the screen always ran into landscape. After hardreset and installed programs without extrom and without trying to reload cam driver with any cabs, the cam problem was minimal. Only sometime failed to load after some successful turning on and off, and always ok again after softreset if it was failed before.

Booting time after hardreset and after installed some book readers, homescreen plus plus, quick menu, audiomanager, facebook, etc was around 45secs. Battery drain was minimal, less than 10% overnight with several calls, sms, and several minutes of browsing internet with EDGE connection. Wifi and bluetooth not yet tested but internet sharing runs well.

The suggestion is to put the instruction to reactivate the camera driver in the 1st post of every roms that use Babak's method or put a link to the cab to 'neutralize' it for someone who may often use the camera.

This are diferent branches of wm6.5 made by microsoft. Can you use search option in this forum to find more about microsoft wm branches. Personaly I recomand last rom's from branch com5 now, but in the future maybe rom's from other branch will be more stabile and fastest.... Depends what you want and what you need from your device....

This problems with camera and fingerkeyboard is caused by other programs installed after flash. I see, all type of sip's have problems when install some internet browsers (IE6 also). Also I see, if install opera 10 and set as default internet browser, other non microsoft sip's don't work. I think it is an incompatibility of some programs with our prophet drivers....
If someone have time to make a list of programs that cause problems will be very nice...

can anyone tell me how to activate the finger keyboard in the latest rom please?
i keep getting a message saying there's a missing config file or something

i downloaded finger keyboard 2.1 (Giannis86's pack) and installed it.
the keyboard still didn't work, so i uninstalled again, which removed the included one.
reinstalled it again and it seems to be working now :)

another question:
is there a registry key or something to make the finger keyboard the default?
although i select it in settings>personal>input, it reverts back to the normal small keyboard after a restart and i have to go back into settings to change it again

apart from these little niggles, the rom seems great and feels faster than the 6.1 manilla2d rom i had on here previously

I noticed that the HTC CommManager in this build does not have a "Data Connection on/off" nor a "Microsoft Direct Push on/off" item. Is that normal?

You can activate all commanager functions from advanced config. You can't view more then 6 function with actual layout.

hi bikertibi, i think there is something wrong with your rom's, but i'm not sure.
i tested some of your editions and with all of them i had this problem!
whenever i send a lot of sms in a period of time, after a short time the thread of a person is stop working, and after some tabs or pressing keys, i have to reset the ppc manually.
i used a lot of roms from others, and i did not have this problem at all, but i must say you are the best now my friend :o
and i use persian language with resco keyboard
and another problem i used spbkeyboard and when ever i whant to go to option of this software, the ppc hangs, and i have to reset manually
