Hi Folks,

I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem since I couldn't find any posts on it.

My Trinity worked perfect for the 1st. yr and a half that I had it. I ran the original WM5 and a cooked WM6 with no problems.

Eventually I upgraded to one of the cooked WM6.1s and at some point (can't remember when) I had an issue where the mini usb 3.5" stereo adapter I was using would every now and then not work properly (as in the Trinity would play sound through the external speaker as if it was not connected). Usually to get it to work I would do a soft reset or 2 and then plug in the original HTC headphones directly into the port. Eventually this would get it to work and then everything worked great for months (I ran into this problem like 2 times in 5 months or so).

Now I have a wierd issue where sound through the phone without anything connected disappears. The external speaker works- I can hear the ringtone, but once the call is answered (or if I make a call) I cannot hear anything through the ear nor can the person hear anything from me (all I hear is dead silence as if no phone call is taking place - the other party knows its connected and wonders why I'm not answering). This happens whether I do speakerphone or not. When this happens I also cannot get any other sounds from the phone to work such as playing an MP3 for instance. No sounds will come out of the phone's speakers. When I soft reset the phone several times it will work properly except.

If i leave the phone sitting for hours and then I come back to it, check to see if sound is working by raising/lowering the volume (and listening to the little tones it makes) it works. But then if I try to make a phone call it will:

A. work for a few seconds then revert to the problem of no sounds at all (speakerphone and/or non speakerphone)
B. work for hours - I can make 2 hr. phone calls with no issues

Problem is I don't know when it will do which. I thought it might be software related (since I didn't drop/break/dip into water, etc. the phone) and since this only happened since I was using WM6.1. So I upgraded the ROM to one of the WM6.5 w/ Titanium. The problem has not disappeared and may have increased.

I am stumped :) Any Ideas?

(sorry for the long post)
