Uninstall the weather fix,then install dcd_bell.cab http://dcd1182.n715dp.com/index.php?dir=Titan%2Fcarriers%2F
Run IE to make sure your data works now, then disable "windows default" and enable "touch flo",scroll to manila weather tab,set the city, run weather update, and after that you can install cdma_weather_fix

Great job on incorporating RSS, Advanced Tools and the Snooze fix. Love it love it. You have a talent in the Kitchen! WM651 is awesome. New features are GROOVY. Well, I hate to be a party pooper but:
I did a hard reset with this ROM installed and after that, my phone can not be programmed (*228) and Internet does not work no matter what I do. I even flashed NFSFAN's 1.0 ROM again and my phone is still messed up in the same way.
I'll have to call Customer Service to see if they can help me get it back on the network.
I have another Vogue that is still on NFSFAN's ROM and I can register that one just fine and it works as expected so dunno what happened here...
One thing that I just noticed: even after I flashed using the NFSFAN's ROM, the phone startup graphics is still the "HTC" one as opposed to Verizon one. It appears like the ROM overwrites more than some otehr roms do. I'll flash back to stock Verizon ROM and see what happens, I think my radio is now screwed up somehow.

Verizon has issues with phone programming today apparently.
I re-flashed the phone back to latest stock ROM, soft-reset before customizations and then flashed NFSFAN's 1.0 again. I am unable to run programming on any of my phones so it is possible that all this was just a coincidence and has to do with VZW issues only... :S

Hi all,
Is anyone having issues with the alarm? I flashed last nite to this rom and I had no alarm this morning. I checked everything: all days are selected, phone was not on vibrate or silent, ring tone was selected and so on.
The only thing I installed after flashing was Marketplace.
I have another question regarding the HTC menu: Is there a way (registry setting( to disable HTC menu which overrides the default windows menu?
Thanks,

Well - after confirming that Verizon's system works (by programming my wife's Imagio) - I confirm that something got screwed up in my phone to the degree that I can not either run *228 (and honestly I don't understand that other thread on how to fix that:() but also - I can not get Internet to work no matter what I do. Importing provisioning XML for NFSFAN's MMS fix, creating connection manually etc - nothing seems to work. I just get "invalid username or password".
So something is funky with this ROM, I can't figure what it is. But right now - I dunno how to solve it, luckly I have my wife's old Vogue but eh... too much pain...

So something is funky with this ROM, I can't figure what it is. But right now - I dunno how to solve it, luckly I have my wife's old Vogue but eh... too much pain...I won't swear this is your problem, but I just recently had something similar.
A few days ago my data password keep deleting itself or something to that effect, because at random it would ask me to re-enter the password("vzw" in my case). So after trying unsuccessfully to get the password to save and stick, I decided to reflash. Well after doing that I was no longer able to make phone calls.
Long story short, after many flashes and installs of various carrier cab's along with several calls to Verizon tech support.....I figured out my phone number had been altered in the MSID.
Solution:
##778 or Start > Utilities > Phone codes > PST > Select "edit" (or select "view" and check the numbers against what I have written below ↓, that way you don't edit something wrong)
The heading of the page should be "Display"
Change/verify MSID=XXXXXXXXXX(your 10-digit number with area code)
Then navigate to:
View Info > NAM Settings
The heading of the page should be "NAM Settings"
Change/verify Mobile Directory Number=XXXXXXXXXX(your 10-digit number with area code)
Change/verify MIN1=XXXXXXX(your 7-digit number)
Change/verify MIN2=XXX(your area code)
**NOTE**-->Make sure your number shows up in the various fields after that(although it may be broken up or have extra numbers added to it). If you are having the same problem as me you'll notice your MSID is not your phone number(in my case it was 000-000-0759).
Then navigate to:
View Info > M.IP Default Profile
The heading of the page should be "M.IP Default Profile"
Change/verify NAI=XXXXXXXXXX@vzw3g.com
Be careful not to edit anything else. Also if you notice that your MSID really is your phone number then stop right there because you probably have a different problem.
Again I don't claim to know this is your problem but it sounds similar, so you can at least verify your settings are correct by following my instructions.

Well, this does seem to be my problem :) but when I go aheadand press EDIT, I get asked for the unlock code which I dunno. :(
What was it for you?
EDIT: Following this... http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17667
EDIT 2: The above did not work; it spits out 6 digit number but no joy, still can't edit settings... hmmm
EDIT 3: I am in... use 000000 as per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=423231&page=7
EDIT 4: Yup, this was it... I am still not able to make *228 1 work, but *228 2 did work and I am just not going to worry about it now.

I turned off Manila now and will try running with Titanium and see if that makes a difference. If not - I'll switch the lock screen ordering to default (slider on top) and see, before giving up.

OK so I think I fixed my freeze... I installed the fixes from this thread:

not that I play this game much, but in 23504 bubble breaker generates the following error: "SHCreateMenuBar Failed" Cannot open Bubble Breaker resource file!"
Everything thing else seems to work, graphically pleasing and as fast as Nagrom's version. I guess all 23504 versions will be speedy. PIM Backup is nice in Vin's roms. Nagrom doesn't include it. Makes restoring calendar and contacts a lot faster than resynchronization with outlook. Another thing in Nagrom's version was that a new text message could not be created from touchflow. It did work fine from titanium. Vin's works in both places. Default keyboard is NICE. Once again Vin, good job in the kitchen.

A reoccurring bug in the last few builds:
When setting up the Bluetooth Share folder you get the tree view of folders, but you can never select any of them. Or rather you can select one, but you cannot finish the selection because the "ok" button does nothing. The only way to leave the screen is to hit the end key. Even then you cannot access the bluetooth settings again until you soft reset.
I used to set up the bluetooth share to point at a folder on my memory card. On these last few builds I have had to use the default folder in My Documents, since no change can be made. Anyone have a solution?

I am waiting on the phone to charge.... :)
If it's not at 50 percent, you can put the phone into bootloader (power + camera + stylus reset). It will bypass the battery check.

Hi Vin - love the ROM. I have 2 things for you; first, your default theme (diamond I think) looks great, but if you try another theme you can't go back to your default as it is not listed. This was as your update 2 versions ago. Perhaps it is a non issue now. Second, your Sprint_Carrier_20081020 attached you also link to a bunch of carrier files and there is a newer version 20090109. Can I use either with this ROM?
thanks

yes,you can use any provisioning cab.
for themes nobody made 6.5 tsk generator yet and 6.1 themes are not compatible with 6.5.1.You can enable manila, scroll to the settings tab and use wallpaper function (2 times)
1-to kill 6.5 theme(you can use any image)
2-to enable default diamond theme
Its p.i.t.a,but works

"CustomizedIcon"="\\Windows\\pandora.bmp"
"CustomizedTitle"="Pandora Radio"
"CustomizedDescription"=""
"CustomizedURL"="\\Windows\\Pandora.exe"

"CustomizedTitle"="Facebook"
"CustomizedDescription"=""

Any ideas vin??
This 23504 build is amazing. It's like the processor was overclocked or something, it is honestly faster doing everything. Makes me wonder why MS was giving us those slow builds if they could have done this all along. Either way I'm happy they did, this is best ROM I have flashed yet!

I have noticed that I have to click reply twice for emails and/or text to be able to send that email or text. This does not happen all the time but is sporadic. I will click to reply to an email and it will allow me to type my message but the send button is not there. Instead there is the reply to all. If I click the reply to all buttons I can retype my message and the send button is there. Now I am running this rom utilizing Titanium and I have installed office. Hey, Vin -
Kudos on this lates ROM - pretty much works right out of the box, and so far really stable - this is the first non NFSFAN rom I've tried that is totally polished and has a feature-set that makes it completely user friendly - only thing missing for me was Mobile Office, which I found in CAB version with some looking -
The one issue I'm having is with Bluetooth PAN - keep getting a error message when I try to connect - I get an Activesync connection without problem - don't want to keep mentioning other ROMS, but the BT PAN feature on NFSFAN rom's work with no tweaking, so I don't really know what, if anything, I can change or adjust to make this work -
Any input would be appreciated - again, awesome, awesome job - I'm almost embarrassed to have any issues - thanks again for your hard work - it really shows on this one-

Just installed this rom last night (replacing NFSFAN's). I like it :D, thanks Vin!
However, I do seem to be having a problem with the lock screen. With a lockscreen enabled (I used 30 min), twice this morning I tried to go back to my Vogue only to find the only thing on the screen was the top status bar (rest of the sceen blank) and I could not find a magic key sequence to bring it back (other than soft reset ;)). I turned off the lock screen and have had no problem ever since.
Things I miss, and will have to go hunting for:
- MS Voice Command (which version works well with this rom?)
- Office Mobile

#1) The lock screen still hangs the phone when called by holding down the end button. Changing the end button to ask what to do seems to work around it (even if you select lock device).
#2) At some point today I lost the ability for the phone to power down the lcd after a period of inactivity. I've set it up under the power options, but it wouldn't do anything (soft reset seems to have fixed this)...

I was upgrading a friend's phone to vin version 2. He has a data plan. Data (ie weather, internet) works fine. Regular text messages work fine. What doesn't work are MMS messages. He gets a MMS message delivery failed error.
He called VZW, they wanted to do a *228 option 1 which failed. They said everything looked fine in their end.
Has anyone seen this? Does anyone know to resolve it? Does it involve A keys and the phone codes?

first you will need to create a data connection using #777 and your phone number (###-###-####@vzw3g.com with vzw as password)if you havent already done so. Then you need to install the attached arcsoft cab. then reboot. then go to your text messaging icon in the start menu and click on options and go to mms options. click servers, then verizon wireless, connect via the internet. reboot again. you should be good after that.
If it still dont work then you need to go to the registry and go to HTLM\software\arcsoft\arcsoft mms ua\config\mml\wspheader\x-vzw-mdn and put in your phone number with areacode. reboot after a few min

All I did is a cut 26px from top and buttom so 6.5 users can use that theme too.
The problem with the wallpapers is that 6.5 wants them to be 240x320 and Manila wants them 240x268.
You did alignment for Manila home tab wallpaper and Startmenu wallpaper. But its making an offset for all other manila tabs.
I did alignment for all Manila tabs, but its making an offset for start menu backgrownd.
There are 2 options to solve it:
1)Proper way is to make 6.5 .tsk theme like Ron Arad,Vera Wang, DWF did. That tool is not released.
EDIT:we can use existing 6.5 themes and edit them with win ce cab manager
2)Cheating-to make top and buttom parts of the wallpapers with the same flat colours
3)To use 6.1 tsk generator. This will work, but its going to affect some other grafics.
I will post screenshots once I make a tsk for Nature theme

Sorry to be repetitive, but has anyone gotten BT PAN to work on this ROM? It's the one thing that's not working as in previous ROMs I've used - USB tethering works fine, and I can pair and exchange files with BT connection, but no internet connection to laptop -
I have a Vista machine, and it won't even recognize my XV6900 as a BT PAN capable device -
It's not the end of the world considering how everything else on this version is so dialed in and polished, but it would be great to get this working -
Thanks to any who can help -

I've been running this ROM for a few days - runs great!
I have a problem though - I liked it so much I put it on my girl's Vogue, but I forgot she has a broken power button!
Somewhere in 6.5.1 I think MS must have removed the Settings>System>Key Lock option for when the device goes to sleep- That was the workaround she was using, she'd just let her phone sleep, then hit any hardware button to fire it back up.
The registry key that used to be there under HKCU>Control Panel>Keybd is missing, so I don't even think I can do a registry hack.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'd love to just remap the buttons.
Thanks!

You can use RonAradcolouredIcons.cab-it was a donor for Nature.tsk.
For taskbar and some softkeybar icons- you can extract icons from any nice looking dll and put it into 6.5.1 shellres.96.dll with reshack.exe (freeware)
Attaching originad shellres and all necessary tools.
1-unsign with unsigner (drag and drop)
2-edit with reshack (move the dll into reshack folder first)
3-sign with signer (run exe and brows for dll)
Thanks to Gadgetfreak over at ppcgeeks for teaching me an sharing the tools
Note: custom crispy shiny coloured taskbar icons may reduce the battery life.

Was anyone able to install the Marketplace update from MS? From few days ago?
I fire up the original client. It downloads the update. Then it fails to remove the previous version and then - it deletes the updated cab. I let the phone sit at the prompt if I wanted to remove the old version of marketplace, but I cant seem to find the temp location of the new cab. I'd like to try installing it manually.

I haven't ever tired to make it work, but the only worthy upgrade to me for Opera would be a version that can utilize the "Opera Flash Fix" and still had the zoom bar. The would be nice to have a cooked in version of Opera w/ flash(assuming that fix works, since I haven't ever tried it).

#1) Lay off NFSFAN guys, we wouldn't be where we are with Vogue hacking without the high standards he sets for everyone. I don't think he's forgotten the Vogue at all, its just that his focus is on stability, not the latest and greatest.
#2) I can confirm that exchange is working on 506_v2. What were the Outlook "enhancements" that you removed?
#3) I'm assuming that with usb to pc popup removed it will default to Active Sync and we just need to run Connection Sharing manually?
#4) Good call on changing the startup sound and animation, looks much more professional now...

OK, first of all, this ROM is amazing! I just flashed from NSFAN 6.5 v1.0 and I love Vin's 6.5.1 v2.
Now my question...has anyone figured out how to turn on "close application by pressing and holding the "x" button? That has always been my must have feature because it helps conserve memory. Let me know...thx
I followed another poster's advice and set my camera button to bring up task manager. If I press it, the camera comes up. When I hold it down it brings up task manager. It really doesn't take any longer than using the quick menu and you don't have to install another 3rd party software.

When I had the first 506, my contacts got duplicated, now Im using v2 and they got tripled, even after I deleted all the duplicates. ????
You must be doing something wrong. what are you using to restore your contacts? If it is a program, are you telling it to delete all contacts first? Or is it just adding duplicates? <--I'm assuming this is what is happening.
I use Sprite backup to restore all personal data. I also use PIM Backup under utilities. They both work flawlessly.

The ROM is great! However, I am having an issue with TouchFlo. It is not launching so no Manila. When I turn on TouchFlo, it will say its launching and then after a bit it will say "tap here to start TouchFlo".
Did the Titanium customizer get left out? I can't seem to find it...:confused::confused::confused:

did you install the cdma weather update/hot fix thing? Uninstall that, add your city to the regular m2d weather tab and ensure it downloads the current weather before installing the cdma hot fix thing.

Few pages back I posted a link to two cabs that fix it for me.
I installed both patch cabs and the problem is gone. Everything works as it should when I slide the unlocker. So far this is a really stable and fast ROM. And I have tons of programs installed.

I installed the 23506 and the SD Install Bug persists. Any program installed to the SD card does not work after shutdown/reset. Is this a WM bug or one with the rom?

I'm not sure exactly what SD install bug you're talking about, but I have installed quite a few apps to the SD card on this ROM without problems.
My only issue to date has been that I cannot get Sprite Backup to complete a backup. I've tried installing that app to the card and to the phone, neither with success. Other than that, this is a fantastic ROM. Thanks Vin! Great work!

I have not had any problems after shutdown or soft reset. And I didn't have any issues with Nag's 23504 ROM either. I've tested Kinoma Play, SKTools, TCPMP and a few others without problems. Are you having issues with specific apps or anything you install to the SD card?

Every single program installed to SD card. They work fine right after install, but a reset or shutdown makes them effectively go away; they don't load, run and their icons are changed to default icon.

That's very strange. If you want to upload a cab, I'll try it out on my card and let you know the results after a soft reset.
Or if you have another SD card you could try that. Even if it's not big enough for your everyday use, you could at least see if apps install OK on it.

Yes, as stated a couple of post above, I'm using version 6.5 of Sprite and can backup with no problem. I copied the cab to a temp dir on the card and installed to the card. Make sure your backup is going to the card and not the phone memory. There may not be enough room for a backup file on the phone itself. I usually backup the entire phone's main storage.

Thanks Tempests. I have tried versions 6.5.5 and 6.5.4 but neither work for me. I had installed 6.5.5 and used it to backup my phone before flashing to this ROM, and all went well.
So I'm not sure what the problem is, but the backup feature in SKTools works for me, so I may just use that instead.

I have a 2 GB one I use for re-flashing; will give that a whirl. it MIGHT be the size of the everyday card (8 GB) that is the problem. I've run several disk check utilities on it and it's fine. So far (Skyfire, Pocket Uno, Bing, Google Maps) are among the cabs I've tried to install to SD.

For what it's worth, I am using a Transcend 8 GB card and have Skyfire installed on it.
Don't know if this will help, but I have a small card (512 meg) that I used successfully for installing Vin's cabs during the flash. I used it recently to upgrade my radio. The radio file was not recognized and I could not get the update to run. Just for the heck of it I reformatted the card with an external card reader (instead of my laptop's internal reader that I had originally used to format the card). Then I was able to do the radio upgrade. So while the card seemed fine, I guess something wasn't quite right and prevented me from performing the radio upgrade.

Custom weather cities worked for me in v1, however, they are not working for me in v2. What could I be doing wrong?
I flash the rom twice from the flash card. After booting I start touchflo, install total commander, reboot, then copy my hh_weather file into the windows directory. I then go to weather on the touchflo menu and select one of my custom cities. Then I get an error that says, unable to retrieve data for selected city; no weather data available.
Is this a case of "operator error"?

The format of the card seems to be the issue. After re-formatting the 8 GB card in the laptop, I could no longer install to the card at all. I'm presently re-formatting the card in the Phone to see if that cures the problems. If not my next step is the re-format the card in an external reader. If that fails, I will re-format in Linux and test the results. Kinda of strange that there is something in the format that was missed by several disk checkers.
Update: the problem was solved by formatting in the Phone. Programs now install and run from the SD card after reboot/shutdown. Several disk checkers didn't find the problem, so try formatting in several different devices to fix if you have problems installing to the SD Card. Also, it appears that the card may corrupt over time, so check the card every so often to insure file integrity.

The Widget Engine is already installed in Vin's Roms!!!!
Inside the \windows folder there is a programs named wmwidgetinstaller that program is the widget install program. You can simply copy the widgets from the PPCGeeks post, click on one. You will have to associate .wgt files with this program. Once you do this, you can install any widgets you like!!!!
I just tried it and it works just fine. YOu only need the widgets from the posts below with Vin's Roms!!!!! no cabs necessary.
I found 2 posts for installing widgets. The first one is from PPCGeeks and the next is from XDA ... i plan on testing them today, even tough both seem to have gotten plenty of success.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...20&postcount=7 (includes original MS widgets)
