Will Flashing HardSPL "reset" my phone (Tilt)?

I searched, read the wiki, read the noob file, but cant seem to figure out if ..

Flashing HardSPL will "reset" my phone (Tilt)?

I managed to update the ROM and the Radio without HardSPL, but would like to be ready for the next time by having HardSPL on the phone.

Will installing HardSPL_and_CidUnlocker.zip reset my phone to "factory" settings or just replace the current SPL and leave the rest of my phone as is?

Flashing HardSPL or CID unlocking will not affect your current installation of Windows Mobile, so don't worry about losing your data from performing either of those unlocks.
