Hi everybody from Greece!
I am the owner of an HTC Trinity, which I bought new, unlocked and unbranded about 2 years ago. A few months ago, it started behaving as follows: Occasionally, when I pressed the power button to wake up the device, nothing would happen. I had to press the power button continuously or soft reset (with the stylus) or even remove the battery to bring it back to life, but that would often result in losing the contents of the memory (settings, contacts, tasks, dates etc). Initially, I thought it was a battery issue and I bought a new one, but the problem persisted. In the meantime, the two-year warranty expired.
I reflashed the device with the official ROM supplied at the local vendor's website, but the problem remained. I even took the device to the service center, where they applied the same procedure and kept it under testing for several days, finding no problem. They returned the device to me, adding that in case the problem reappears, they would have to replace the motherboard, charging me a huge amount of money (I could buy a brand new similar handset for less money).
Obviously, the problem is still there and I suspect it is hardware-related. Is there a way to check the reliability of the device CPU, ROM, and RAM, without bricking the phone?
I have installed Olipros' HardSPL 1.20 and I have a working version of mtty, which I can use to connect to the phone. Radio is 1.38.00.11, ROM is 1.23.405.2 and protocol (?) is 32.71.7020.12H.
Thanks in advance.
