ringtones dont appear

Ok Ive been allover searching. Everything says to put the ringtone in the sound folder, and it will appear for me in the ring tones Start>settings>sounds. But it doesnt. Is there somewhere else to put it?

Storage Card in a Folder My Ringtones.. SMS Tones on Root of Storage Card...

or if no Storage Card in My Documents on phone.
