Flashing from SD Card - Quick answer?

Never flashed from SD but it seems it's more reliable..

My problem is.. can anybody tell me how?

I have my unlocker/ROM I want on the SD card, I'm guessing I go into bootloader mode from here, but once I'm there what do I do to flash something? and if I have more than 1 ROM on there do I get to pick what to flash or no?

Your RUU_Signed.nbh file needs to be renamed to "VOGUIMG.nbh" Then hold the power & camera buttons and soft-reset.

Appreciated, whichever ROM file I rename to that is the 1 it'll flash I'm assuming, so if more than 1 are named that.. will it have a problem or pick one based on somethin like size, date, or whatever?


Also.. regarding unlockers as well, they just seem to be a file ran on the computer, can they be done through the SD as well? It seems like when I click the file it auto unzips somewhere and runs the program, does it unzip an RUU? Because I can probably just search the unzipped files

Are you running a custom ROM right now? Have you already unlocked the phone?

Once you flash to a custom ROM you no longer need to worry yourself with the coke unlocker. That's pretty much a one time deal, unless you need to flash back to stock and "re-lock" the phone for warranty purposes. Otherwise, just flash-flash-flash and then flash some more!

It may be "more reliable" because people don't take the precautions when flashing from the computer. You should close all running programs and turn off screen savers, then flash. Then flash 2 more times to be sure you have a clean flash.

My preferred flash method is to manually put the phone into Bootloader mode(hold down power+camera+reset), once at the RGB screen plug in the USB cable, then just double click the RUU(romupdateutility.exe) and follow the directions.

Thanks, I've flashed multiple times through the computer just was curious how to go about it from SD.. the reason I was going back was to try to get the GPS Fix to work on my phone, I got a new phone yesterday and successfully did all the steps but no GPS unfortunately, but at this point I'm not even going to keep bothering it's not that serious.
