I have flashed my Treo Pro with this rom. It looks great.
Great Work. I have to put Manila or HTC Sense UI on it and try out now.
Some issues that I have found are:
1. Dial-pad screen with contacts on scrolling fades out.
2. Large Screen Icons.

It's unsigned. It is a raw dump that has been rebuilt. Other than that, there should be no difference.

Thanks so much for all the hard work.
Just some issues I have encountered so far:
1) The Start menu does not search applications when you start typing the first few letters - you have to physically scroll all the way down and search for the application you want.
2) The dot icon representing the white option button (when you want to input numbers and symbols etc) do not come up next to the keyboard icon when it is toggled.

Have anyone found the way to get rid of palm default Key Guard ? coz if u use Password u have to:
1) press center,
2) Slide the Slider
3) enter password
i could really do without pressing center
PS. there is no Keyguard EXE file to my knowledge, there is .dll and Registry but if u delete it, after ur phone goes to screens saver after 5 min of inactivity Touchscreen become unresponsive (or it did for me anyway) only way back was a hard reset :(

I have tested the stock ROM. You cannot flash this stock ROM without HARD SPL. I assume this is because this stock ROM is unsigned. After installing HARD SPL I was able to flash this stock ROM.
I had a quick look through it and it does indeed look like the original ship ROM. The startup "customization" was instant (I assume it didn't do anything) but that may have been caused by my sim not being installed at the time. I think this is when all the network settings are automatically set.

Indeed, everyone can load this 'stock' rom into their hp after hard-spl crack.
My doubt is how to 'unzip' this nbh file & extract all its components into a destination folder? That Treo Pro Erviuskitchen which posted by NightRaven can not proceeding with this job properly.
Does anyone have any ideas for fixing this?

I'm wanting a 6.1 Kitchen.
The one one included in the 6.5 Kitchen has a few bugs.
1. Touch Screen issues.
2. Keyguard issues.
I personally am unimpressed with 6.5 and am preferring 6.1.
A Kitchen for 6.1 would be so appreciated.

Actually his kitchen including both wm6.1&wm6.5, which can build ROM properly, so beyond this, the only thing you need is a 'healthy' ROM, I attach this link for you to download.

I think the reason the "startup customization" runs so quick, it's not installing all the 'Extended' apps. ie. Telnav.
But you may also be correct about 'Carrier Settings'. although all works fine for me with Att.

But I didn't see the need to start a new thread for this simple question;

Does the Panther not have an Extended Rom?
I know the Hermes had one, but the Kaiser doesn't.

It was a Partition of around 10MB that was set aside for Customization.
Carriers often used it for installing Bloat and Carrier Settings.
Much waste.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtendedRoms
On the Hermes we would either Merge it or use it for our own Customizations.

If the Treo Pro is like the Kaiser, it doesn't have an Extrom.

You can shut Symantec app off when downloading a package.
I know that sounds stupid, but the point is, you can not keep your pc away from virus since you hook up internet everyday, as long as virus not been activated immediately, there won't be a big issue.
I have been told by my company IT guy when last time my laptop crashed by virus, and I think he is right.
So my method is, mute anti-virus app when downloading something, turn app on again after downloading finish, and simply recover c drive by ghost when I found something abnormal, for example OS appears quite slow, mouse click looks funny, open an app with ages...

By which time the keylogger will have sent all your bank details to the Russians, and the trojan payload infected the other machines on your network, (inc your iPhone), and mailed itself to all your addressbook :)
There's not much point having protection if all you do is turn it off!

okay, then we should open another topic so call as 'security'
1,for personal security, it could be much more wise to get a physical ID certificate device, I mean get yourself a USB key to protect your money.
As for bank details/information, I really don't care if KGB has extra time to check it out one by one or not, I am not a millionaire anyway.:)
2,for public security, the key for preventing internet users away from virus is stop producing virus program, not install an anti-virus app on your own pc, it's quite passive man!
Millions, billions of virus already flying everywhere outside your pc, and internet is their sweet warm-bed, there is no point for setting up a barrier to stop virus infect other machines.

It is just a false alarm. If you are downloading many files and afraid of virii, don't use Symantec. Use something else better such as Kaspersky or Eset NOD32.

I donated today to XDA Developers in appreciation for this great ROM from Nightraven !
after one year of using WM 6.1 and SPB Mobile Shell I fell in love with my Treo again.
I love the new 6.5 interface icw the strong typical Palm functionalities like simply typing characters from the home screen using the keyboard to find a contact, make a call etc.
No need to buy a newer smartphone model yet !
keep up the good work
thx guys (or girls) !
update 01/12: after a week of enjoyment I can only confirm the error of the dial pad fading out / blurring while scrolling throgh contacts. would be great if this could be solved but is not really a big issue.

I installed this ROM and loved it but read earlier on that realvga wouldn't work on it. I gave it a shot and installed it anyway and it works like a charm! Both on the new (and old) today screen and also on the programs list.
I have yet to find a problem with this rom. I am about to install all my old stuff and see that everything works. Huge shoutout to NightRaven and if ur reading this, Cmonex for finally unlocking our beloved device!
This is so gonna keep me happy until palm (finally) decides to release an unlocked PRE.. (preferably with additional API's for greater app integration too)! But thats so off topic.
On topic, Is there any chance NightRaven, that you coud reease a stripped down version of this rom? Same thing just without the outdated apps, and guides etc? Just asking.. If you're willing I will give some feedback and donate.. I tried toying with the kitchens and I'm clearly not an Iron Chef!

Essentially what you need to do is first is enable the flashing of roms on your device. you do this by installing the HardSPL that Cmonex made for the GSM Treo Pro here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4920347&postcount=1
Follow those instructions to install the HardSPL. Then you need to download NightRaven's (Phenomenal) Rom from the first post in thread:
GSM Treo Pro ROM - 1.0 WM6.5 Build 21857 GSM Treo Pro ROM
and extract it to a directory. Then run the file RomUpdateUtility while the Treo Pro is connected via activesync. follow the instructions and all should be good! Good luck!

Hi, can you confirm the exact version/source of RealVGA and dll pack you used? The one I tried installing after this ROM flash (RealVGA 1.1) won't open up the phone screen or programs like Explorer and Contacts although the Start menu and other programs are OK. The "ebag" variant looks to install OK but then says it can't find any associated program when I try and run it.
Quite possibly something I've done wrong here and need to start again, but would like to know I'm using a tried & tested RealVGA package before I go do another hard reset...

Ineedtoys, I'm using the Ebag version. What you need to do is install Mortscript in order to be able to run the Realvga script file. I forget where I got it from cause I got it ages ago when I first installed it on my 6.1 stock rom. Just do a search.. I'm sure you'll find the Cab pretty easy. after that its all smooth sailing..

Thank you so so so so so much! You all have no idea how happy I am for this upgrade. I bought this phone a few weeks ago and made the assumption that it would get the 6.5 upgrade. I was gravely disappointed because I love the phone......and now, thanks to you all and these forums I have gotten exactly what I wanted. I've already flashed the rom and although the bugs are relatively minor, I am very happy. Thanks Again!
Update: I have been running this rom for a few hours now and have reinstalled the programs I wanted. I now find I have more memory than before because I like the 6.5 interface..no need for me to load spb moile shell or any other program to tweak it...just the themes I want and it's golden. This is fantastic....it's like I have a brand new phone that does EXACTLY like I want it to do! :)

I installed this ROM and loved it but read earlier on that realvga wouldn't work on it. I gave it a shot and installed it anyway and it works like a charm! Both on the new (and old) today screen and also on the programs list.
can u post some screenshots of it ? just to see what will it look like ..

@DuneBug - rep for the pointer. Seems there some remnants of the other dlls which were screwing things up and I'd forgotten about reinstalling Mortscript too :$ That's what comes from rushing...

Sorry for the delay.. Been working.. Only problem I see is that the phone signal indicator doesnt show how many bars you have.. It does show if you have no signal though. This is with Mccunes Realvga dialfix ver 3.

First of all, i'd like to thank everyone who's been working hard on making WM6.5 for the Treo Pro.
I'm really new to this (so maybe I'm doing something wrong), but I installed Nightraven's ROM and Ebag's RealVGA on my phone, but all it does is make the letters look small. The icons remain just as big as they were on 128dpi. Am i missing something?
Thanks

Hi Nightraven..
I really dont know if this is a problem with Winmo 6.5 or if it's specific with your rom but I found since I upgraded, when I type in any text field (Note, Sms, Word) if I hold a key down it no longer repeats but instead it capitalizes the current letter. What I mean is if I hold down the 'a' key, it appears first as 'a' then if I hold it down it becomes 'A'. It wont repeat no matter how long I hold it down.
I looedk for a setting for repeat but cant find it and I tried a Hard Reset with only your Rom loaded and it still happens. Does anyone else see this effect? And can we figure a way to return the standard repeat?
Thanks..

Thanks..I am getting this as well. Is this a WM6.5 thing or ROM specific (I suspect it is the later). I'd like to request for it to work like in 6.1 (repeat when held).
Also I noticed that when you hit the START button you can no longer use the keyboard to jump to an app (ex. START + C -> Calculator (1st app with letter C) can this be added back or is this gone in WM6.5?

I know this is intended by MS with Winmo 6.5. But I'm with you.. I sure wish there was a way to fix this.. sure doesn't look likely though.. *sigh*

Will not connect to WiFi. Was working before with winmo 6.1. Also cannot get Email to work. I have tried it with my Verizon, Hotmail, and Yahoo Account. I cannot log into Windows Live. Seems to be an issue with the password idenitification. When I enter my password it is changed by the time it goes to connect to the server. The server password is longer than my current password.
Is there a way to reinstall the E-mail client? Please let me know when you have a fix for these bugs. Other wise you did a GREAT job. Keep up the good work.

Hi guys,
couple bugs ive found since flashing to 6.5 rom:
Carrierdb is old (v 220), not sure if this is something i stuffed up flashing it or not. Various places say not to touch this when flashing them but I couldnt see where to protect it. Causes the network to show as a 5 digit number instead of "Carrier Name"
CC-Cap shows up as 000-000-000
Own Phone number show as unknown, dont know if this is new or has always been like this tho.
Voicemail number isnt programmed in, comes up with a "set number" prompt whenever i go to the voicemail entry on the home screen. Putting a number in doesnt make it remember. This possibly means my voicemail icon wont show up if there is one waiting.
Gmail java app... when I try to type in the password, and it used to come up with ***, it now comes up in plain text, but that text vanishes when i hit done, and it thinks im trying to sign in using a blank pw.
Any workarounds etc would be much appreciated.

Some issues.

Thanks for all your hard work.
1) correct path for registry is HKLM\system\keytouch\IsScreenAlign
(without software)
2) don't really bother me :)
3) its a different build this is 21857 which is more or less WM6.5
the Heechee's ROM builds are 28008 and 28014 and it WM6.5.1 or 6.5.3 or something like that which are future builds like if i have a look at WM6.5 devices that come with it (not cooked roms) they dont have icons at the bottom either...
to be honest i prefer 6.5 at the moment coz i tried 6.5.3 builds and the icons at the bottom take up too much space, tro screen is to small for this, unless someone get realvga to work

Thanks for that. I've sorted out these problems, apart from the blemishes to Internet Explorer, which I've decided to solve by using Opera Browser instead. I've noticed a new bug though. When I scroll down the Phone screen it becomes progressively garbled the further I scroll after about five items. Not a great inconvenience, but because I like this 6.5 ROM more than the 6.1 one, it'd be great if it were perfect.
Again, thanks to those who do this stuff. Brilliant.

Hi!
I have a question regarding the SIM-Lock Palm Treo from Vodaphone.
--> If I flash the ROM of my Treo with your kitchen, why the SIM is still locked? Is there another ROM somewhere on the mobile?
Thanks in advance for you explanation

Flashing a Rom won't unlock the SIM.

Hy, guys!
I am facing problems with flashing the HSPL. The process starts and hangs with the screen as seen on the picture below. In a minute it says that the connection with the device had not been established. The screen goes tri-coloured as soon as the flashing starts and freezes tri-coloured, so I have to remove the battery to reboot.
Before I learned that I need to flash my HSPL before rom upgrading, I tried to upgrade to 6.5 and noticed that the dialogue box was asking whether I would like ' to flash the current ROM to 0.0.0.0 version and, of course, the update was unsuccessful.
Can someone help me with this?
Thank you in advance for the attention

I just got my Treo Pro and I did HSPL and this ROM is installing. The installer did show 0.0.0.0 for the version, but its flashing now and is at 40%.
Using XP here. I also manually put it in bootloader mode (camera, power, soft reset).

If you use ceregeditor (free) there is a tool to unlock the registry, then you can edit the keys.

I second that motion. I would love for more people to be releasing 6.5.x GSM ROMs... or fixing bugs in the ones that are released. I'll try yours in a moment but the other two ROM projects out there seem to be dead or dying.

Hi, thanks for the ROM.
Two things -
I see that the KeyGuard thingy is listed as a known issue, do you know the registry setting I need to change to disable it during calls though?
Also,
farm5.static.flickr[dot]com/4026/4455720529_644e950d2d_o.jpg
Won't let me add the photo in, new user etc., replace '[dot]' with '.'
When pressing the send key (to bring up recent calls and contacts) I get that^
(I also get the same thing for the other 6.5 ROM out there)
Thanks again for the ROM :) Hope these little bugs aren't too hard to fix.

Hi all,
After finding a nifty little application called "CeRegistryEditor", I managed to compare before and after changing the 'KeyGuard' setting of 'Disable touch screen: While on a phone call' on a stock WinMo 6.1 ROM and found it to be changing this in the registry:
HKLM > Control Panel > KeyTouch > OnCallToday
0 – KeyGuard on during calls (default)
1 – KeyGuard off during calls
Changed that in the registry on 6.5 ROM and there you go :D
Very happy now. Apart from the contacts/recent calls thingy... :P
Thanks again for the ROM
