Hi,

I have just started using Andriod 3 days ago and LOVE it. It’s like I have a new phone.

Have 2 4GB SD's, one with 1.5 and one with 1.6 until I decide which to stick with.

My question...
What Rez are ppl running in 1.6?

mddi.width=240 mddi.height=320 lcd.density=120

or

mddi.width=320 mddi.height=480 lcd.density=160

and why?

I know that QVGA is the native and something’s look sharper like the time font at the top right.

But.... I installed the HTC_IME.apk (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567294) and the letters on the keyboard are nasty.... also there is the fact that there is less real-estate on the screen at the lower rez.

So.... what other issues / reasons should I be considering here?
Are there fixes for the issues I have mentioned?

240 x 320 for me its crisp and sharp. I can't go back to 320 x 480 - the whole screen looks blurry and awful imo.

Yes... I am torn between a better looking screen and a bigger screen.
Also, I have fairly large fingers so really like the HTC keyboard... but can look at it in QVGA....

To me, 320 x 480 looks cleaner, the fonts look sharper and more fits on screen... but it is not as fast, and the 2:3 aspect ratio is weird. I love how speedy 240 x 320 is and the 3:4 aspect ratio rocks, but I can't stand the market issues. I wish there was a happy medium, like on Ion.

yeah i agree i got some nasty big fingers too .. but check out betterkeyboard for android, got tons of themes on the marketplace and i personally love the boston bruins, so im using that theme, and the keyboard is basicly like the hero keyboard but not. if you know what im saying? lol

I voted for changing between both, depending on what you want. Usability wise,
mddi.width=320 mddi.height=480 lcd.density=160 is probably better. More apps are compatible with this res. and there's more 'real estate' on the screen of the device to work with.

But when you want to show off to your friends, definitely 240x320 w/ 120. It looks crisp and the apps that do work properly are nice and sharp.

If you want looks, go for the smaller res. and density, otherwise go for the larger res and density.
