Another big thank u goes to amarullz (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633795) & others who have made the Sense 2.5.2012 VGA port possible.

This ROM is based on my latest Gen.Y D2 R5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521941) build. They share the same base kitchen, so stability etc. should not be an issue.

However it does feature 2 major updates:
- TouchFlo3D 2.1 is replaced with HTC Sense 2.5 VGA (and all additional packages)
- EzInput 2.0 is replaced with EzInput 2.1
- Opera 9.5 has been replaced with Opera 9.7
& some other minor adjustment to make it fit for sense 2.5

Manila Footprints has been removed since it's not functional on our devices.

FULL ROM (few stuff removed like Customer Feedback, Transciber)

Radio 1.13.25.24 (download below) or newer recommended for optimal performance

Pagepool: 10MB

Free Storage Space: ~75MB (R2)

Known issues:
- Can not select 24H in Locale&Text. (Trick: select another city (US region), check 24H box, DONE, select your city, DONE.)
- Twitter Tab: tapping on a tweet does not work
-> maybe a WM 6.1 problem?
-Downloading files in Opera to Internal Storage is impossible: Opera limits the Path to 15 characters (Opera 9.7 BUG!)
-> rename your "Internal Storage" in the Registry (Thx @ Olfason)

Indeed incredibly good! Normally, memory percentage is around 80%.
I am really looking forward to this. Unfortunately, it's 6.1.
That means no flex scrolling. But well the Sense UI is almost covering the whole Windows UI so it doesn't matter much.

Nice to see you working on Sense 2.5! At what ram consumption are you aiming, or should i ask, how low do you think it could get? On other Sense 2.5 roms it climbs up to 85% (90%+ is not unusual). In my opinion, if it would sit somewhere near 75%, it would be acceptable (allthoug, that's a bit low, i think).

Yes, it's pretty stable and robust enough for daily use but be advised that there is only a Dutch version as of now.
The English release will come later.

Weather is updated and seen on Home tab
When I press the taskmanager icon twice (once to open and once to close) the Home screen refreshes and the clock jumps one hour back and one hour forward again. Looks like it jumps to original GMT+1 time and corrects itself to the proper Daylight Savings time. Anyway to fix this?

Some things......
1 Album update = Htc sense starts again and coverupdate is not working.
2 From taskbar you won't come into comm manager for wifi
3 No volume bar in the music player
4 When using musicplayer taskmanager is blank (maybe normal?) and after connection to pc the musicplayer is stuck at last song.
5 Shortcuts hometab get corrupted sometimes (don't no how or when) and cannot be used.

Okay tested evrything and it works very good. Nearly everything works just smooth, except voor the image rotation animation.

I totally agree with that, I'm french and with a wwe rom I may have been able to test and use it, and more people would!
But nld is really really hard to understand...

because i'm dutch-speaking myself, so i first made all testing roms in NLD first for myself

anyways, just an update for those who do not read the Gen.Y D2 thread:
hey all, i just got a HTC Hero as a present, so i won't be as active on the diamond forum as before
i'll still finish up my work with D2X R0 to make it multilanguage, and then release the full kitchen
So to wrap up:
- R4.3 is now the FINAL release of the Gen.Y D2 series
> B version will be up next week hopefully (with videocall)
- D2X will be updated once to support all languages (no ETA on this one)

ps: android is such a bliss, just seeing the same processor blazing through the menus, man WM is really crap compared to this

Quick question Sun Y has a SMS cab install to quote:

I have created packages (cabs) with all available Manila 2.5.1920 language files.

Simply install the according package and do a soft reset

These packages should work with every Manila/Sense 2.5. ROM! I have not tested all Packages (only english, german, russian). But they should work.

UPDATE 13.11.2009: Fixed SMS and other notification issues (Thx @ DMOLITIO), all packs updated!

Would we need to install this? Doubt it but just asking just in case :).

my regards to creator, very good job. first impress is really good. looking nice but:
- toooo slow with my DIAM200
- i cannot change the default location - time is set only -8 hours and system keeps changing clock
- dunno exactly how but after sync it deleted all my contacts and wanted to sync again
- didn't launch opera (only splash screen) after mail link click
- caller id didn't work until i changed it first to "noone" and then to "everyone" (just seems confusing because it looks like default is showing my number to everyone but it doesn't) - not a big deal but anyways

Okay encountered my first weird problem. I installed MS MyPhone and when I went to type in my login details predictive text did not want to know me. Everytime I would go ana it would go zzz, normal K/B works fine. Once MyPhone has finished d/ling my contacts and SMS I will try a sms but so far first weird bug...:confused:

HTC Sense isn't born for DIAMOND 1 .

Okay there is definitely a problem with predictive text. If I go and press q the first letter it chooses is a. However if I press at the very top corner of the letter it selects the right letter but if I press in the direct center of a letter it gives me something around that letter eg: g = nothing :confused: s gave me c :eek:. Also anything on the right side does not seem to work :confused:. Compact QWERTY works fine but Full QWERTY does not.

Also ever since I found MTTY I always do MTTY before a ROM install to avoid any problems...

The second thing is that if you click the task manager in the upper right corner, the home screen ''activates'' again, so the clock goes back and forward, and the weather animations run. This is a bit weard.
Besides these bugs, i find this very good to use for daily use, so thanks. It runs smooth enough in my opinion, and the ram is acceptable. With sense it feels like i have got a new phone. The only things that show you don't have a 1ghz processor, are the landscape picture and music animations.

thanks for this rom, I've just installed it. It's quite fast and I haven't found any significant problems. WiFi works for me. Only it takes about 30 seconds to disable WiFi from CommManager. I guess that maybe some registry changes can even make Sense faster although I'm not sure what could I change, any tips?

This is a common problem when you first sync your contacts and only afterwards set your timezone. Be advised to set all your regional info first before you sync your data.

Go to settings - Personal tab - phone - GSM/UMTS Services - Time Synchronization

Get Settings then un-tick Automatic change time zone and clock.

This has always resolved the Manila time not updating issue for me.
I'm sure it did the email one as well but I can't be sure.

Didn't you forget to check the timezone before syncing. I had the same problem a while ago. I don't know if it caused the error but I always set the timezone before syncing and haven't had that problem since.

Great ROM!!! Here's my comment

- WiFi didn't work after 1st flash. Next day my phone did a hard reset when recharching. After a "MTTY" both problems where solved.

- The dutch translation of the music tab is uppercase (MUZIEK). The other tabs are not all uppercase.

- I don't like the original windows start menu. But i'm sure that if i search the forum I'll find the right download for it.:D

Excellent ROM! First 2 attempts at flashing gave problems, but after using MTTY method everything is great.

I couldn't get MMS to work on O2 pay and go at first,as the MMS settings are not accessible, but that was easy enough to solve.

I have used this ROM all day running TomTom with 25% memory free, only 5% less than previous ROMs I have used.

I suggest u use the Mtty method and then flash. I have successfully disabled stocks and twitter tabs. No problems here whatsoever.

SENSE 2.5 is more beautiful than M2.1.
It is not slow for me.

But I have used for 1 days only then re-flash your R4.3.
I. I don't know how to add another city for weather forcast.

II.Because the message(SMS&MMS) is so difficult to use.
1. When I open a MMS, the screen will be horizontal automaticly and difficult to read.
2. Can not see all message folder include deleter folder, inbox floder and my custom folder.
3. It is difficult to operate when write and cancel a SMS or MMS.

I think I will still flase your WM6.1+SENSE 2.5 ROM in the future.
It is much more wonderful than M2.1.

I would say try mtty and stock rom reflash before you flash this rom again

First of all, it is a very nice rom. Sense 2.5 look quite nice. But its very laggy and use to much ram for a daily usage. A problem for me is, that the QWERTY mode in German (XT9) do not work correctly. I am not able to write in XT9 mode.

That's normal - you have to select a background image - but will get the weather animation. That's how it works for the SUN Y rom.

Foodprint doesn`t work ???? Sorry forget it, just read that foodprint doesn´t wor one Diamd, colud somebody explain my why??


IMHO (and correct me if i'm wrong) this is the reason Footprints doesn't work on this ROM:
Footprints cannot work on a diamond with WM6.1 cuz there's a higher HTC album version needed (i think it's 3.2) that has the possibility to add a picture to Footprints. This album however also needs the scrolling capacity that WM6.5 has and thus isn't compatible with WM6.1.

I've just flashed the WM6.5 AthenaROM cuz in that thread someone mentioned footprints was working (right combination WMversion and HTCalbum), but i haven't got it working yet.

yes, i think that's all you get

although of course you can always add any others you want to the START menu in the usual WM 6 way....has the advantage of being available from all tabs

Use the attached cab to get 12 program shortcuts (it also includes BG4ALL).

Edit the following registry key:

HKCU\SOFTWARE\HTC\Manila\IsShortcutEnable

It probably has a value of "1", change this to "0" (without the quotes). Then soft reset.

EDIT: After changing the registry, delete the three shortcuts and then soft reset. Setting the registry key to "0" makes sure that they don't get re-created.

When I connect the Diamond via USB - Quick GPS starts and says: Cradle not found.

Another detail - the menu enhencements (I hope I called it correctly) has a different font size than the manila menus (see screenshots) - how to change it?

For all of you who liked the new messaging client, I created a cab from the package in the manila 2.5 thread. Install THIS (http://www.mediafire.com/?2wn4tndwjy3) cab and soft reset. This will get the new message client working again. I've tested this on R1AWWE

If I'm not mistaken you should set you're background through: Menu>Home Wallpaper>Weather Wallpaper

Just pick an image from your device. Now press the taskmanager icon (top right corner) twice and you'll see the weather animation.

hi! someone pls. explain how to enable the 24 hour clock format caz it's grey and can't be activated :( By the way, great-great rom, sufficient memory to run other progs, it feels and moves really really good. And great battery performance, the most important. It really seams that the perfect combo for sense 2.5 is with wm 6.1, caz i've tried many many other roms, but this remained my favourite, i'll keep it for sure. The new manilla interface hides absolutely well the ugly 6.1 wm interface. Again, pls. help me with the 24 hour clock. Thx!!!

Known issues:
- The sense port is not yet 100% perfect, so some minor parts might have scrolling/layout issues (though all major stuff is correct)
- EzInput 2.1 for some reason refuses to work right when xt9 is enabled and you're in Full QWERTY mode
-> solution: disable xt9 or switch to a different mode if using xt9 (half qwerty, phone keypad)
- Turning off WiFi takes some time (20-25 sec)
- Notification panel shows battery in 10% units
-> solution: install a battery icon pack that shows 1% increments
- New ContactPicker 1920 is not compatible with WM 6.1
-> Group Editor crashes when adding contacts
- Twitter Tab: tapping on a tweet does not work
-> maybe a WM 6.1 problem?

Memory consumption is known to be higher since HTC Sense 2.5 is more demanding on the RAM than 2.1

The R0 build is not yet final, however it is robust enough for daily use so i decided to release it

Don't now why you wouldn't want 12 shortcuts instead of 6, but I've attached a cab which includes BG4ALL only.

Fantastic, it's very useful...fast and stable...only one bug i've found...when I choose a particular background for Home it's impossible come back and reset the black background in home to see only the weather condition...

For removing My Location I think you need to Add a New Location and then click on the clock and make that Location in the World Clock screen. Then it will show that location on your home screen.

1) nella home dove c'è l'orologio c'è scritto sotto localita e non appare il meteo
se vado a impostare il meteo non riesco a settare il primo meteo con milano mi resta default berlin, rome.
riesco ad aggingere milano ma me lo vede come seconda città. e credo che per questo non appaia il meteo nella home.

2) tra i programmi ci sono tre lin HTC ma non non ci sono le icone giuste.

3) nelle prossime realise consiglio di installare di default pim backup e favbackup (quest'ultimo sempre che sia compatibile con htcsense)

I was actualy blown away with the speed and features available, I worked on getting the twitter feature working - with sucsess, Gps and googlemaps was rapid, even tagging facebook friends to the contact list was pretty simplistic.

However, now my phone refuses to boot. Sob sob.
Awesome cooking, and i highly recommend that people try out the rom, but for now i will return when it is more stable.

I have been using the R0 version of this ROM for a few days and came across 2 minor problems.

I use dual volume not single.I noticed that when running TomTom and adjusting the volume that while the side of the screen shows blank where the volume indicator should be, the white bars do not display to show the volume level.

Also, the words "System" and "Ring" are very small on the main volume display.

I managed to fix this by using the Topaz volume control provided by Shaks.P as an add on to his earlier ROMS

I shall flash the R1 version as soon as someone can provide a mirror. (bloody Rapidshare!). Hopefully the problem has been fixed but if not, I thought I'd let you know the solution

I haven't had that problem. I think, if before you cahnge that key, you go to the settings tab and select Location and check "Automatically decline location service in all HTC Software...." Then it won't try to re-download your location.
