It didn't work...
In the CHT editor it is shown the way it sould be, but when I lock the phone it keeps going to default :(

Did you soft reset after you enabled the CHT lockscreen?

Did you tried with HD mini lock style?

Did you flash with MTTY?

If yes at all, than i really don`t know. Mine works just fine, i mean worked because i use S2U2 now.

Have you tried taking the battery out and leaving it alone for an extended period of time?
My diamond did that once. It wouldn't turn on, but after leaving it for a while with the battery out it would work as normal.

im trying some new ROMs and this ROM was first i tried. After some more ROMs i found Energy ROM with really shiny MaxSense. Its nice but too much heavy for Diamond. I cant start almost any application and i need some apps like iGO thats need so much RAM.
So i basicly want well-arranged today screen with some nice look (MaxSense is really great piece of work and meets all my ideas for that), but at the same time i need some free RAM for apps like iGO, Garmin, WiFi Monster and so.
After that i considering to return on this rom with Sense 2.5 cause its clean, free RAM which i need. BUT........when i tested this ROM i just cant ignore one thing. That annoying new appointment bug. I need fast access to calendar in daily basics to this was a main reason for uninstall this ROM.
So this is my question: are you willing to fix this bug, or is there a chance that this will be fixed in future? I'd like to use this ROM but with this bug i simply dont want it.

I'm sorry is the answer to my question is documented in this thread - but i have honestly searched first, and cant find an answer.....

I love this ROM, and have been running it for a few weeks now. However i have re-installed it quite a few times (always doing a full format / MITTY first)

Every time i do this, the first few days are fantastic - and i get "3G" signal, and apps such as "Youtube viewer" run like a dream. However after a few days this goes back to just "O2" and never goes back to "3G" until i reload the ROM

any suggestions?

The language files for the cooked FK should be placed under \windows and \windows\Skin.

Did you try going to 'Weather' Tab and enabling My Location from the settings menu? It should then automatically pick up your location.

Also you need to install "Connection Setup" for any data services to work (weather, internet, Wi-fi etc). It is not included in the ROM.
Install the Connection Setup CAB file, and then run it.. and it should get you on track.

I am sure that you didn`t flash with MTTY, did you?

Use Core player for playing videos. This is a superlite ROM.

BTW, after you soft reset your device, after it shows the homescreen don`t use it for a few minutes, let it make a complete start up. And it might hang because of the low battery, diamond is very slow.

I installed Office via Marketplace to upgrade my old version.

I found the one i was talking about. Install the *.cab attached in Internal Storage and you should have the Office 2010. I hope it works.

About the default thing, i think it can be solved with some registry changes but i have no idea which one.

If you are using Resco Explorer you can navigate to a text document and try "opening with..." and set as default, it might work. I hope you understood.

Could someone please helpe me with TomTom? I really like this ROM, ring problem solved with converting to Wav and I have only one problem. When I want to use Voice folder for TomTom, it wont launch beacuse of memory error. When I delete Voice folder and leave only Map folder, TomTom works. I tried install TomTom to Internal Storage, Device Storage and nothing helped :(

Update: Switched to Garmin, which works OK.

One more question, how to add own city via Accuweather code? In DonSalari Tweaks 2.2 I wrote my accuweather code, but my location is still automatically set on home screen? And is there any possibility to add own cities in Weather tab, which are nor listed?

i enable word suggestion at the fingerkeyboard setting it still doesnt work.

its on the fingerboard that i need to enable the T9 function at the default
keyboard 1st but the default touch keyboard is not there, and i can even remove the fingerkeyboard program.

So you want to have on home screen the weather of your city, not of "my location", right??

start->settings->clocks&alarms-> set ur home town :)
if the home town time changes automatically then install the new donsalari tweaks which i am just about to upload :D

The application is not made by Don, he just changed the icons and a few tweaks. It was finished at the end of 2008 so expect to be incompatible with sense 2.5. I know that there was a today plugin named "home" or something like that and maybe for it was that tweak.

Anyway, like i said, this is not a ROM problem, try another sim card and see if it works, mine does.

This ROM is stable and the battery life is also good, but because the chef bricked his diamond it is a bit out of date but i think [rather hope] it will be updated soon.

I have had a look through this thread, and copied a couple of files on to the device to fix the internet connection sharing (I did this a while ago). Now, when I try to use it, the device connects to the PC without errors, but the PC never gets on the internet. Instead windows XP shows the network connection with the little yellow warning symbol, as though it was unable to get an address. I get the same results on ubuntu as well.

Has anyone got this working? Is there more I need to do?

So you copied this [link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4379714)] right? If yes, i don`t know what you should do. Update to last version of the ROM, i think there will be no problem but i don`t guarantee.

I really don`t know. I never used internet sharing. I`m sorry but the chef is away for a while.

Please go to Sense settings tab, than down to About phone and than to software information and tell me the ROM date.

Like we all know this is a superlite ROM and there might be something removed... i really don`t know.

You don`t have to apologize. We all learn from somewhere.

So, even if you use MTTY, you still have to flash Hard SPL.

After you flash Hard SPL, you can flash the ROM for this read carefully post #2 and #3 from MTTY thread.

The advantage is that MTTY formats internal memory and there will be no junk files. If you flash the ROM without using MTTY some files from the old ROM will not be removed and you will experience some weird problems.


You have to read the MTTY thread to understand better. Please pay attention to first 3 posts in MTTY thread.

Hey guys,
I'm semi new to flashing still.

About six months ago, I saw Don Salari's ROM and loved it.

I'm really paranoid about bricking my device though, so I read forum after forum, instruction after instruction and finally got the courage to HardSPL and flash Don's ROM.

It all worked fine and I've been using it since ... but again, I've been so paranoid about bricking my device that I haven't flashed since! :o I know ... lame.

But I had a couple of questions, I'm hoping somebody might be able to help me out with:

1. The Don Salari SENSE ROM I'm running is dated late February, so it's clearly been a while. Is it worth updating and why/why not?

2. What are the dangers of flashing again considering I've already flashed with Don's ROM? As in, I've obviously HardSPL flashed and have flashed Don's earlier ROM. But I've only done it once. Do I simply need to flash the new ROM the same way as the old one, or just follow the MTTY steps, and all will be ok?

3. My memory usage on the Don ROM I'm using is pretty harsh. It sits at about 80 per cent, which from reading the forums I gather is actually pretty good, but it's the delay in opening things that's the killer. For example, it takes about 10sec to open my "All Friends" so that I can see my contacts. Would those sort of issues speed up by flashing to the latest version?

4. Finally, I've been keeping an eye on the forums and checking out new ROMs as they're cooked up, but nothing seems to come close to this one from Don ... until I saw this one:

It's the Memo ROM and it looks really awesome. Having only flashed once, I'm clearly pretty picky with my ROMs and I wanted somebody's opinion who knew Don's ROM. What do you think of the Memo ROM? How do you think the Memo ROM compares to Don's? Is the Memo ROM worth a try?

Tried to use Diamond Tweak but it is set to show SIM contacts, I can read them with SIM Manager but they don't show up anywhere else. Would rather not import them to the phone as I don't like having them on there.

Yes, however I may fear that I may have messed it up since I didn't get to the last part of the instructions in time, but the flash worked, and I started loading up the phone only to find the contacts weren't showing and was like "great, now I have to reflash:("

I went and downloaded and installed The TF3D2.1 + Titanium without phone canvas and lock (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549460&highlight=DonSalari) and it is seeing my SIM contacts without touching anything. So I don't know, guess something is different with the newer ROMs, and the SENSE 2.5 version in this thread is the one I would like to use.

Try to make a build that has the maximum amount of free ram as possible - without htc on top of the OS and for the camera to work. Currently running a build with 40% of RAM used. Can you do better?

anyone has been able to run tom tom on SENSE 2.1 version?

I've tried all the suggestion in this forum but no way...
If I resart the phone without sense or titanium the free ram is 61 MB but the problem persist: TT states "not enough memory"


My older phone with equipped with 64MB of ram 27 free at boot and 20 in during normal usage TT worked

I've tried a PNA version which required less performaces and ram, TT starts successfully but crash if a route is calculated...

If someone has a TT version which is working could please send me a PM with the link?

TT version 7.910(9185) CE version is running on SENSE 2.1 rom!!!

(PS my rom has PP 8MB probably works also with the default PP 10MB but keep in mind PP isn't the fix the TT is the fix)

TESTS completed:

WCE europe maps loaded
a route has been successfully calculated
I received a call and the the phone switched back to TT
voices loaded
sense loaded at the same time

Free Memory :

sense loaded: 53 MB Free
sense loaded+TT: 45 MB Free

"WCE.5.0_tt7_7910.rar" the version is for CE... I don't kwnow exactly the difference.
Probably TT now is running thanks to the "NOTE_PRJ.dll" which is in the rar I've downloaded. The DDL has to be placed in the Navigator folder


IN EVIEDENCE:

a file called "CurrentMap" in the Navigator folder cause the usual problem at startup "not enough memory"

Don doesn`t use the 3G video call and neither i so i can not help you, sorry.

Are you running out of RAM? Did you format with MTTY before flash? Hard reset after?

I have started to play with ROMs a month ago (finaly) and Sense 2.1 is the winner.

I'm having only one small issue with sms messaging. Whan I choose New message and start to type name to find contact I see two windows with contacts. When I choose bottom one the phone number is not filled in To: field. When I choose from top one phone numbers work, but I cannot find all names and for some names, for example starting from BLE, sms canvas crashes.

I have workaround to choose name from Contacts, but that way multi phone number message cannot be crated.

Does anyone knows, how to fix it?

For couple of days i was testing diferent ROM versions.
Sense 2.1 is the best.Clean with a lot of ram .Actually free ram is between 20-40mb .Average - 28mb of ram that is enough for iGO 8 or some other programs .

There is a problem with Internet sharing but there is a Internet Sharing patch (not at the first FIX posts) that solves the problem.

I think that FingerKeyboard is not so responsive than EZinput.

With 2.1 sence when i install Tachi Phone Canvas my phone stop ringing .It is displaying the answer/ignore but no other notifications like sound :)

[Problem]: Settings shortcut missing after installing DS tweaks.
[Solution]: Use "all settings" from Settings tab, sense 2.5
You can not disable sense. What version of ROM are you using and what version of DS tweaks did you installed? I am running 2.5 version and i have settings.

Start Menu => Settings => System => Power -> Backlight => uncheck Auto adjust backlight - and there you have it.

I'm also having the problem with making new appointments in the calendar.
When I try to do so, I get an error popup stating:

"The file 'HTCAppointment' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."

I am encounter this problem too. Has it been solved? I feel it is not since the project is dead? Any trick to fix it?

This is a Superlite ROM. Some files are missing. Try using Core player.

yeah... i always flashing with MTTY. i know the problems i think... i hard reset and install donsalari tweak 1st after flashing rom as don says yesterday.. and the Note appears now :confused:

and for 3G i use WMLonglife to pick GSM mode or 3G Mode :D

1. As far as i know opera is not installed in this rom, you can install any version you like, but keep in mind that from the internet tab ie will be fired up. I know there's a way to change this, but i really have no clue how atm.
2. This is a common bug in custom build roms, it has to do with a conflict between new and old sensorsdk versions

and for gsensor, i used this cab to get the application working again (credits go to benko off course):

Yes, use the CFC Compressed.

you can do it without reg tweak. Start=>Settings=>Personal=>Phone=>Data and enable or disable disconnect on sleep. :)
