Windows Phone 6.5 with HTC Sense - Satus ROM R 2.0

First at all, thank you for your email and PM (supports, thanks, requests). Sorry to let you wait for long time for this second release because I have to test it for months. I present to you the second release for SATUS ROM R 2.0. My goal is still the same. I will continue to maintain the same feel and look (no cheese customizations) of official HTC Rom since HTC betrays us.

So, for those who look for customization. This is not a ROM for you please try other rom and do not complain.

Get started, read carefully the following information:

[What's new?]]

1. More, or the best, responsive and faster Windows Phone 6.5
2. HTC Sense 2.5 UI build 1921 is added.
3. Fully GPU Accelerated. Better Graphics Performance.
3. Taichi Dailer - Video Conference required different dailer. Please find and install.
4. Voice Commander and Voice Speed Dail. Microsoft Voice Command removed.
5. All new stuff like notification, menu, message enhancements, contact, settings, facebook,twitter, etc. Beautiful and smooth.
6. Updated Keyboard to EzInput 2.1 -> very nice keyboard.
7. All HTC Common stuff.
8. GPS tested. Works!
9. Facebook and Twitter Integrated with HTC Sense. Works!

[What Do You Have To Do After Install This ROM? Known Issues]]
In order to make this ROM run perfectly on your phone. You need to perform the following tasks:

1. After install the ROM, the Titanium UI will be default because it consumes sinificant less memory. If you like Touch Sense, you need to enable it manually in Settings -> Today -> Items -> HTC Sense. Hit OK.

2. Manila SDK Sensor Auto Rotation interferes Touch Sense Music Player sensor rotation. Touch Sense Music Player needs to rotate on its own.
You need to go to Settings -> System -> G-Config.
Then, tap and hold on "Manila" in the list and choose "remove" to remove auto SDK Sensor Rotation support for manila. Soft reset!

3. Google Maps was intentionally left out so that you can install the latest Google Map. Head to google to download the map application.

4. Some phones still encounter the "cannot unlock" problem with Titanium lock screen. It is recommend that you create a password for the lock screen. This will surely solve the "cannot unlock" problem.

Storage: 51 MB Free (out of 79MB)
RAM: Total 111.03MB, 56% used (49 MB free)

+ With Touch Sense UI
Storage: 51 MB Free (out of 79MB)
RAM: Total 111.03MB, 75% used (about 25 MB free)

Note: Sorry, this is the best I can do. Diamond memory is too limited for new things. Impossible.
So, the best way is to use Sense only for call, texting, twitter, etc. For memory intensive
program you should disable htc sense in today settings.

Several Solutions:
1) Use clean ram or sktools free ram service will help. This service will monitor your RAM memory and recover
the free Ram automatically without your notice.
2) Change pagepool size will give you more memory. There will be a trade off for speed and memory.
3) Disable services.
4) Remove some HTC tabs like stock or calendar.

With all been said, complain about memory usage is useless. Instead, we should provide some tips to improve
it.

Screen remain white means your Diamond is out of memory. If you restart sense, it will work. As I said, SKTOOLS has a "Free RAM" service, it runs in the background, catch and release memory automatically for your Diamond. If possible, purchase SKTOOLS is highly recommended.

This is a missing thing in the Sense ported VGA I guess. May be I will correct this next ROM. Now, internet tab is a perfect thing to remove to save memory. :D

Try to set it, press Start->Settings->Sound&Notification->Notification and select incoming text message and check vibrate option.

It's a perfect and very fast rom!!

You encounter those problem because you didn't read my information before installing the ROM. Microsoft Voice Command is not even in the ROM. The phone hangs because you didn't use MTTY to clean your phone first. I bet when you come back to you old ROM. You will still have the hanging problem.

i've tested the rom, it's working perfectly with the combo 6.5 + manila 2.5. But it might be perfect if satus man can remove the HTC message client for us. It's very slow and ram-eating :D thanks for the rom !

You encounter those problem because you didn't read my information before installing the ROM. Microsoft Voice Command is not even in the ROM. The phone hangs because you didn't use MTTY to clean your phone first. I bet when you come back to you old ROM. You will still have the hanging problem.

Definetly hard reset, read the onscreen instructions, if I remember correctly volume up does not format the internal storage. Don't take my word on that and check for yourself! Good luck!

Did you try MTTY to format your phone first before flashing the ROM? Hard Reset does not work if you phone is fully of junk in ROM memory.

G-Config allows you to add/remove Auto rotation support.

Open the G-config, see the list, then tap and hold on the name of the application which you want to remove auto rotation then choose remove.

In your case, tap and hold on "manila" in the list then choose remove.

I did. That's why I wrote "what do you have to do after install the rom?"

You have to softreset after you remove. :) What is so hard about G-Config? Any one can do it easily.

Anybody had any problems when waking the phone out of the sleep modus that the display is all snowy . This morning when i want to wake my phone up to make a call after sleeping all night my phone had a snowy display and had to reset the phone.



Is there any way to activate the the circle button for scrolling when you rub your finger around the circle button really liked that feature. By the way nice rom SATUS

Try Install Japanese Font too. Soft reset a few time after install fonts. I soft reset 2 times, fonts are all working.

I don't have that problem, but it could be either out-of-memory problem or bugs in the current ported VGA of Sense. Of course, if the ported VGA Sense were perfect, thing would be perfect. Titanium and the rest work perfect though.

To save RAM, you can remove/disable unnecessary tab like Internet, Calendar, Stock, etc.

really thanks to the cooker, this rom is the first rom i flashed and it works very well although the memory is low if i switched on HTC Sense:D

At one point, I have spent 5 minutes doing exactly that (slide!), and nothing would unlock it, except a dreaded soft-reset.

It only worked 1/10 times for me. Can anyone else test the same and update me please ?

Its a famous bug of some builds of winmo 6.5, all you need to do is to just slide your finger in the bottom portion of the of the screen, just above the clock n then the unlock slider will work, its recommended u dont use lock screen but its ur choice

i just have one single problem though, even though you have provided all the video drivers, all of my videos converted by this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467112) video converter in 640x480 mp4 work at a low framerate..not watchable.
I'hv had this issue in several roms but they work perfectly in stock rom or in some cooked roms like energy rom or genY's...is there any fix for this??? I just love your rom as it has everything i need..please provide me with a solution

Read the "thing you have to do?" 1st post, then add a password to your lock screen will solve the problem :) Remember to put prompt password in 24 hr so you don't have to enter pass when wake up/turn on diamond

Hi, HTC Message does support the language. May I ask did you install japanese font as well? My phone has Viet+Chinese+Japanese. Chinese and Japanese (read & write) are displayed correctly in HTC Message.

Hang mean the phone has a lot of junk. Use mtty to format phone before upgrading.

Bluetooth default control is out of the scope of this ROM. May be you can research the tricks somewhere else.

Hang mean the phone has a lot of junk. Use mtty to format phone before upgrading.

Bluetooth default control is out of the scope of this ROM. May be you can research the tricks somewhere else.

my first day during using your ROM,
1. good and fast, but not fast enough, but i used SKtools for that.
2. you got 2 advance network icon, its very annoying.
3. PHM Regedit not functional at all.
4. you only used 3 rows icons not 4.
but overall your job is good.:D

Hi, HTC Message does support the language. May I ask did you install japanese font as well? My phone has Viet+Chinese+Japanese. Chinese and Japanese (read & write) are displayed correctly in HTC Message.

i tried windows media player, core player and the htc album but the video doesn't work well in any of them, i also tried installing neos driverpack 3 to no use:(:(

is there any registry or .dll file i can change to improve it?? i searched n found htc_d3dm.dll file but i cannot change it..would changing that file help in better mp4 video playback?? any help would be appreciated

First, a wonderful ROM upgrade. Noticed following few things, which I hope can get some answers or suggestions for improvement

1. The Memory Usage is average 90%+ (with HTC sense) and some applications like Music, Comm Manager failed to start. 1 or 2 apps alone take it to 97-98%.
(around 70%+ with Windows Default)

2. Playing Music stops and goes to home with message 'Launching HTC Sense...'. This might be related to above.

3. Comm Manager - WiFi always shows OFF, and cannot be turned ON from there. Had to go through Start > Settings > Connections. WM6.1 had a WiFi ON/OFF switch.

4. Two Icons for Advanced Network in Connections

5. Pictures and Videos do not load, maybe due to low memory.

6. Cannot change the Locked Screen Wallpaper Image - Screen blanks and comes back to the same menu.

7. Took several times to Change the Home Wallpaper

8. Clock display on the Home always goes to 1 hr 1 min less than the current time and then flips over to the current time. (if time is 4.34 PM, it will display 3.33 PM and then flip hour and then minute to goto 4.34 PM). Also if I drop down the top right icon to see memory usage the time resets again in the same way.

9. Bluetooth option in Comm Manager says 'Connect to Bluetooth headset'. Maybe this is the design in 6.5, Not sure, but WM6.1 had a Bluetooth ON/OFF switch.

10. Weather update on WiFi gives Network error message. I saw this in 6.1 as well.

This is all I have been able to go through in a few hours time, since I installed the upgrade and I MUST say, what a wonderful job Satus.

Again thanks for sharing this wonderful piece. I hope I will find answers soon, and help to make this better and contribute.

Read the "thing you have to do?" 1st post, then add a password to your lock screen will solve the problem :) Remember to put prompt password in 24 hr so you don't have to enter pass when wake up/turn on diamond

To add to this - I put the password initially, following the few tips post upgrade, and it was only the very first time the slider took time to work. Since then slider works like a charm, and mine is set to lock the device after 5 minutes of no use.

1. No solution. When running app it is better to turn off sense. Diamond memory is limited for new thing.

2. Same as 1. Out of memory.

3. You should MTTY your phone. Never see any report on this.

4. Known issue. Will fix next release

7. Nope. You have to wait for Sense to load wallpaper. Don't keep changing.

even after installing a few more programs my RAM is still moderate! the first HTC Sense ROM i've flashed that's stable!!! :eek::eek:
here's the problem.. just yesterday i wanted to use my camera and it says "the file Camera cannot be opened, blah blah blah...., if problem persist try reinstalling or restoring this file"
what do i do?

display is black, pressing keys doesnt make any difference, but if i pull out the stick the keys lighten up, so its not dead. only thing that works is to disconnect the battery. when i reconnect it and start the "HTC Diamond" is being shown and after that black screen again.
any ideas what happened?
battery is fully loaded.

Yes, MTTY. It is impossible that the ROM kill your diamond. The best thing you could wish for is that it is not hardware error (something like bad sector on your phone memory).

It could be that (1) your phone is not clean before install my ROM OR (2) out of memory so that Camera cannot be open.

If (2) Easy, just clean the Ram then open camera. Or disable sense for a moment in Today Settings.

If (1), use MTTY to format your phone to clean out all the junk left from last ROM then upgrade again.

There is a program called SKTools that allows you to change file association for extension such as mp3 wav mp4 to Pocket Player.

:confused: From Comm Manager, I see the following options:

Phone
Change Phone Settings

Data Connections
Set Up Data Connection

Wi-Fi
Turn on Wi-Fi Automatically

Bluetooth
Connect to Bluetooth Headset

Mobile Wi-Fi Router
Make your phone an access point

Airplane Mode
Turn off all connections

I would assume that when GPRS is connected, I should goto Data Connections (2nd option) and turn it off from there. But it takes me directly to the Connection setup menu. It does not switch off the GPRS. Last time, I could see my GPRS connected for over 3 hours.

Clicking on Wifi (option 3) searches for access points and connects. But the On-Off switch does not become ON. Stays on OFF (I have to go Start > Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi and uncheck the box [ ] Turn on Wi-Fi

Is there some better or the correct way. I must be missing something.

is it possible to get the threaded (conversation) style messaging option in the HTC sense. It is there in the Windows Default theme.

The conversation style is much better that the flip through which shows one message at a time.

Everything was working fine... Until Customisation on first boot; it freezes on Opera 9.5. It has been like that for hours... then i hard reset and it does the same thing!
