This is the same kitchen i've used for my Gen.Y D2 + D2X and TP2 + TP2X series. (so both GSM Touch Diamond and GSM Touch Pro compatible!)

The kitchen is prepared in 6 languages: SPA (0C0A), FRA (040C), WWE (0409), NLD (0413), GER (0407) and ITA (0410) (R5.1)

This kitchen is the culmination of months of development and hard work, so please pay credit where credit is due.
Kitchen includes packages from the Diamond, Tachi, official Topaz/Rhodium WM6.5 roms & official Leo ROM.

Original OEMDrivers has been seperated into OEMDrivers & BaseOEM in the EXT packages
All icons have been updated to fit a more modern ROM

How to cook a ROM

Step 1: Extract the Kitchen
Extract Gen.Y-Kitchen-R5.3-MultiLANG-RELEASE.7z using 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to a folder of your choice. Be sure that there are no spaces between the names in the folder you're extracting to, or else you will have problems while building the rom
(e.g. C:\Touch Diamond is NOT OK!, use C:\TouchDiamond instead)

Step 2: Starting up
Once you've extracted the file, you can start the kitchen by launching Erviuskitchen.exe. Please note that Windows Vista/7 users will have to launch the program as an Administrator (right click -> launch as admin)

This is how it should look like:

Click on the button "Load ROM" and select the type of ROM you want to use as a Base. You can choose between Gen.Y D2 R5.5, Gen.Y D2X R2.6 or Gen.Y TP2 R5.5, Gen.Y TP2X R2.6 (this one is for Touch Pro users)*. Once you have loaded up your kitchen, you have the same setup i used for the release of my roms.

You could now just press "Create ROM" and build a stock Gen.Y ROM, however this kitchen is meant so users can create their personal Gen.Y ROMs (with only the stuff you need)

*For a WM6.5 ROM, see below.

Step 3: Customization
Once you've loaded a stock ROM, u can customize it to your own needs. U can exclude packages, add new packages, or edit some of the app.reg files to tweak it even more.

To exclude a package, u simply need to double-click on a package, and the packages will be disabled and not used while building the ROM.
Keep in mind however that some packages are required for some core functions of the ROM and/or TouchFlo3D. I did my best categorising the stuff in folders so it's easier to know which packages can be removed without affecting functionality. The "XtraADD" folder for example features all extra apps that can be removed and will not affect the core of the ROM. U could also choose to disable notification enhancement and use the older largetitlebar instead.

U can also change the Pagepool before building by pressing the "Other button" in the top right.

All you need to do is change the number after -PP to change the pagepool (12MB pagepool in this case)

Step 4: Building and flashing
Once you're ready, just go ahead and press the "Create ROM" button, this will take a while so go take a walk or something :p.
Once done, you will get a file called "ruu_signed.nbh" in the RELEASE_DIAMOND folder (or RELEASE_RAPHAEL for TP users).
This file is your ROM, it's built and now ready to be flash, this can be done in 2 ways:
- via PC: you can flash it by running CustomRUU (RaphaelWrapper for TP users),
- via Internal Storage: rename the file to "diamimg.nbh" ("raphimg.nbh" for TP users) and copy it to your device to flash it from the bootloader itself (faster)

How to use the addon package to cook a WM6.5 ROM

To build a WM6.5 ROM, extract the Gen.Y-Kitchen-R5.3-ADDON.7z file to a seperate folder.
Then delete/rename the OEM, ROM and SYS folders from the kitchen, and replace them with the ones that are in this package.
Do NOT remove the original Tools folder, but just copy the one over from this package. It includes the prebuild setup for a Gen.Y WM6.5 ROM.
Then load the Gen.Y D2/D2X/TP2 B21884 sample.erv and use the steps above to build a stock Gen.Y WM6.5 ROM.

Kitchen includes specific packages for WM6.5 (marked by _WM65)

Made my own rom, removing all the stuff i don't use.... So much free RAM!!!

I had 1 problem with the Kitchen though:
Every rom i made would simply hang for long time at the Customization Screen
I found out what caused this though, if people have the same problem then you can fix it like this:
Navigate to: OEM\Diamond\COMMON\OperatorPkg
And open text file called: config_operator.txt

Remove the line saying:
CAB: \Windows\WindowsLive.Update.cab

Then save it. and run this cab later yourself.
rebuild rom then try, shouldnt run into Customization Hanging.

well, to make a translation, here's what you need: a dumped Diamond, WM6.5 Topaz/Rhodium & Leo 0C0A ROM
Also, when adding 0C0A MUI's in the BaseOEM folder, be sure that the app.reg matches the current ones (e.g. compare with the app.reg in the 0409 folder) already there

then, for the OEM, i would just copy the 0409 one, take that one a a base, and then replace the files and edit the app.reg's etc. to fit the 0C0A language (initflashfiles.dat, .rgu, runcc.lua, all need to be edited)
Also, what you need to do is download the spanish Windows Live mobile cab , rename it to WindowsLive.Update.cab and put it into operatorpkg_0c0A (can be found on the microsoft site)

Hmm, what you should do is remove BioTouch.dll & Biotouch.exe from TouchOptions_1_0_19183420_00_WM65 package
also you could experiment (remove or set dword:01) with the following registry key:

Hello yoz, I do appreciate your efforts to have us become cooks and I do appreciate your last ROM. Unfortunately, even though I read a lot of things, I couldn't get an Updated (build 28011), Italian (0410) ROM with the Sense 2.5 you sport in the kitchen. I had a couple of non-booting rom and don't know what to fix... Therefore I'm begging you: can you point out which rar files I need, from the Da_G new WM6.5 builds thread, to have a Gen.Y ITA Sense2.5 build 28011? Where do I have to extract them? Can you shed some light in my ignorant darkness? Maybe this would take me to the point of not-need any help for future updates... :(

You only ned to go in Xipporter & Rom Tools (in the kitchen's main window) and then click on Find Date/Version on \ROM\Xip\, then edit and press Change. Don't touch anything else!

Hola Aluke, he traducido casi completamente la ROM y el manila con los paquetes de idioma de otra cocina de la misma versión de WM si quieres (y contamos con el permiso de Yoztagt) dime algo y te la subo para ahorrarte trabajo y la revisas, porque seguro que tendrás más experiencia que yo a la hora de hacer ROMs porque es la primera vez que hago una :)

The Leo canvas has the same problem, likely due to running 6.5 native .dlls on 6.1?! So, I went back to Tachi as I've been playing with other stuff.

I didn't try it, but the above is worth a shot though as the Qilin canvas is one of the best. Let us know if it works.

I cooked a ROM only disabling the Manila package files. It goes well, it just skips the customization at the end of the flashing and instantly soft resets.
Just wanted to know if I'm missing any "tweaking" in the installation for not running that part or if the customization process is Manila related only.

Here is my Spanish translation. In the Rar there are the same directories structure than the kitchen (but contains only new files), only is necesary to overwrite the folders and will be added the 0c0a folders with de Spanish language.

I recomend to make a backup of the kitchen before of extract the files.

There is a Spanish cab for Manila 2.5 inside the package too, developed by Sun.

is the first time I try to cook a rom, I followed the instructions of the first post, I opened the ervius visual kitchen, clicked load rom, I loaded the Gen.Y D2X R1 B21054 Ita, I have turned off some programs such as trimmers and mp3 added some kind cleanram but after the creation of the Rom and flash, the diamond lights up, start welcome, then the splash screen and the customizations are not complete and hangs on touch screen.... why?:(

Well that's rather theoretic isn't it? When you can't do a single soft reset, the ROMs out of this kitchen are pointless - no matter how great the kitchen itself is or how clean the ROMs can be done.

I'm totally baffled by the fact that the 4.3A and the new 4.4A ROMs are supposed to be made by this kitchen. Yet they flash, install and run properly with none of the issues.

This kitchen is mean stuff. It shows you what you can do without even knowing much but you can't since it simply doesn't work. ;-)

never had any of those problems, my only issue was the keyboard input selections...

I obtain the same issue everytime that I cook a Rom without Opera, I think customization may needs Opera.. or that specific version contained in the kitchen..

I had this probably all day yesterday, thought it was me cooking in the Qilin dialer, but it was Opera as you said. Not sure why it's causing it.

On another note, does anyone know how to get back to the stock icons? I've gone through all the packages didn't see anything in there.

Also, I noticed PIE has kinetic scrolling which is really awesome! I assume its part of the Touchflo that comes with 2.1. But I also noticed that arrows control the scrolling too in PIE. Is there a way to revert it back to selecting links? I tried Advance config, that didn't seem to work.

finally Solved

first don't remove the original ( kitchen_build_rom.bat ) in main Gen.Y kitchen .. just open it ( right click and edit ) and change this :

REM **************** TOOLS\platformrebuilder.exe
if not "%errorlevel%"=="0" goto error

to this :

REM **************** TOOLS\platformrebuilder.exe
REM **************** if not "%errorlevel%"=="0" goto error

now every thing will work normally ..:D:D

Are you sure customization is definatly not run? I have noticed, the customisation seems to run background as soon as windows starts (eg. before screen alignment) which is why screen alignment seems to be slow or hangs for a little.

If you leave it for long enough, and then do screen alignment, then press next, it will not show customisation screen as it all is already done on background.

As for if customisation hangs, i have posted a fix for that somewhere in this thread, it has to do with Windows Live Update.

Made my own rom, removing all the stuff i don't use.... So much free RAM!!!

I had 1 problem with the Kitchen though:
Every rom i made would simply hang for long time at the Customization Screen
I found out what caused this though, if people have the same problem then you can fix it like this:
Navigate to: OEM\Diamond\COMMON\OperatorPkg
And open text file called: config_operator.txt

Remove the line saying:
CAB: \Windows\WindowsLive.Update.cab

Then save it. and run this cab later yourself.
rebuild rom then try, shouldnt run into Customization Hanging.

For Italian users: Do that, otherwise you get stuck. And follow instructions in the How-to.txt attached here. I got it 28011 ITA running! ;)

When I cooked a ROM using the kitchen, I've chosen the 4.3-WWE base and disabled ...

- Diamond Rings and Topaz Alerts & Alarms
- Opera 9.5 (so no Opera is active as I use Oper Mini only)
- Google Maps (as I install a newer version manually)
- HTC Calculator (as I own HiCalc)
- Java (my Java comes with Opera Mini)
- Explorer enhancements and Zip (as I use TCMD)
- Voice Recorder
- Connection Setup (as I can do that myself the one time it's needed)

It seems that the customization is indeed run in the background (because you can see QuickGPS and such which is part of the additional apps). That's not the problem as it seems. The SR=HR is a major one though.

Are you saying that if you leave Opera in there the SRs do work? You don't get a HR instead every time? I'd rather prefer not to have Opera in there but if that would solve the SR=HR issue I could at least remove other useless stuff (Voice Recorder, Ringtones, Jave and such). I'll test that later.

Besides, is there a way to incorporate the changes of the 4.4 ROM (WiFi not hanging for 20 seconds when switching it off) into the kitchen so cooked ROMs will be on the same level as the 4.4 on is???

That is indeed the magic trick that solves it all!!! I only changed/deleted that single line in the kitchen and did not touch anything else. Everything else is working with the newly cooked ROM now. Soft reset works properly, customization is run properly and the device reboots properly after customization is done.

I cooked a ROM that gives me 55MB free RAM (49% usage) and 114MB free Storage (out of 122MB) by removing ...

1.) The three conection setup itemts -> you can enter them manually once if you're not travelling much
2.) The rings and alerts -> I use my own here
3.) Google Maps -> I use the new 3.3
4.) Calculator
5.) Explorer Extensions and Zip
6.) Java Jblend
7.) MP3 Trimmer
8.) Calculator
9.) Opera
10.) RSSHub
11.) Voice Recorder

I enabled the GPSTool as this one is quite handy. This ROM is really nice and clean now. Thank you so much for figuring it out.

The only thing missing now would be the enhancement of 4.4 regarding the WiFi shutdown time. And some battery icon that shows percentage...

Now just wish there was a fix for the vertical slider issue.
Where the vertical slider will shake if you try to navigate using it (touch and drag). It appears to think there is 2 stylus touching or something.

Also how do we modify the Internet Tab to launch a different browser? eg. launch Opera from another location... or PIE.

i got one problem, anyone know how to manually set the time zone in 6.5? mine's greyed out, and location seems to thing i'm in seoul, which is no where near adelaide! it won't change the time zone itself

Man, that kitchen is really great stuff. The more I get to know the differnt things the better the ROM I can achieve. My latest one has 122MB free Storage (out of 130MB) and a RAM usage of 46% (58MB free) with full Manila. Impressive how fast the Diamond can go and how clean it can get once you throw all the crap overboard.

Same here, the savings are quite big by getting rid of EZInput. I use TouchPal anyways so no loss for me. And the RAM usage drops by 5% too if EZInput is not there. I also gained a big chunk by removing the ArcSoft-MMS. I've never sent or received a single MMS as I either use SMS or EMail so MMS-Capability is just wasted here. My Diamond now blazes along at ~50% RAM usage and gives me 120MB Storage to install my stuff in.

I love the kinetic scrolling, but I don't like the fact that I can't select links with the arrow keys. I've tried using Advanced Config, but that didn't seem to work. I don't use Streaming Media nor do i use WMP to view any videos, and i do not use YouTube. I only use HTC Music Tab to listen to music, otherwise i watch no videos on it (I use Coreplayer instead).

Also i see Camera_6_00_3345_01 being enabled, is there a reason why Camera_6_22_34164_0 is not used?

If you enable any of the IME shared devices
IME_engine_western
IME_ezinput

They seem to screw with the Touch Pro hard keyboard so that some function buttons dont work. Tried this with both 6.1 and 6.5.
Then flash it without these packages and wham it works fine.

Also for some reason i think there has to be a battery drain bug in this somewhere, as i flashed 6.5 on my touchpro and left it on standby and by the end of the day like 12 hours i was being warned of low battery!

To enable weather forecast in calendar tab day view, u need to add your city in the weather, then go world clock and make sure your city is selected there as well (the forecast will only be visible if the weather city and clock city are the same)

- Where can I find a cab version of the Youtube app in this kitchen? I'd like to take it out of the ROM and install by cab since the app is rather large and any app in ROM counts twice
- Can letter and block recognizer be removed somehow? I only use Touchpal and leave the default keyboard for backup. But the other two could go if I only knew how (if it's possible)
- Are there cab versions of the Teeter and Adobe LE somewhere to be found?

Just thought of an idea.... Maybe we should start posting our own kitchen config files.

Only post the ones which have full functionality of components installed, eg. if you have manila, ensure that all tabs working (you may have removed something that would screw up one of the functions).

We could post them like:
Config File: http://myconfigfile.erv
WM Version: WM6.1
Manila Version: 2.1
Kitchen Version: Gen Y R4.4
Free Ram @ Startup: 45%
Key Differences: Removed Opera, All Google Maps and Services including HTCGeoService (Dont have to list everything, just the key ones, people interested can download your erv file and view it themselves)

Then others can try them out if they are not so familiar with the components in the kitchen. haha.

If anybody interested, here's the rom I cooked up using this kitchen.

RAM (After some TF3D2.1 Usage): ~55-60%
RAM (At boot with TF3D2.1): ~40-45%
~130MB ROM Free Space.
~80.4MB nbh compiled rom size.
WM6.1 WWE (Only tested WWE)
Built using R4.4 Kitchen
Primary Removed Features: Opera, Youtube, GeoServices (like htcgeo, googlemaps), Adobe, Removed Some DRM Packages, EzInput Keyboard Removed
Changed Features: Used some newer packages (eg. volume control) than the original R4.4 WM6.1 TF3D2.1 Rom.
From my testing, all features included work 100%.

Download Kitchen Config File (erv file) from here:

Adding EzInput:
Simply load my erv file, and scroll down to the section SHARED-Devices: IME and double click and enable the following:
FOR EzInput 2.0:

FOR EzInput 2.1:
IME_Engine_Western_2_1_19202626_00
IME_EzInput_Western_2_1_19163529_00

Some modifications to your kitchen:
1. Open the file: \OEM\Diamond\COMMON\OperatorPkg\config_operator.tx t

Remove the following lines:
FILEOP:\windows\FILEOP_OperaAdr.txt
CAB: \Windows\WindowsLive.Update.cab

Your new one should look like this:
LOCK:Enabled
TSK: \Windows\HTC Black.tsk
FILEOP:\windows\Menu_FILEOP_Operator.txt
CAB: \Windows\BsB_G-Config.cab
CAB: \Windows\HTCMMSProviderCAB_20080506.CAB
LOCK:Disabled
CFG: \Windows\config_mms.txt

This will fix soft reset = hard reset problem and will fix looping customization.

2. Delete the file: \OEM\Diamond\COMMON\OperatorPkg\FILEOP_OperaAdr.tx t

3. Once your rom has flashed and you have finished initial setup (eg. screen align and customization), navigate to this folder in your kitchen:
OEM\Diamond\0409\OperatorPkg_0409\
And copy this file to your device: WindowsLive.Update.cab
then Execute and install to Device (not internal storage).

Then you are done, enjoy the super lite ROM.

i have some strange problems:

1) pressing phoneup key on titanium screen does do nothing (it have to open dialpad), where i can set it's function??

2) when i bootup first time after rom flash i find that wifi it's on, but htc communication manager button is set to off, so i have to activate (but it is just ative!!) it and redeactivate so it will would run normally, anyone can help me...

3)how to set softkey on various titanium panel, in text panel contacts and write(new sms) do the same things, how to correct them..

Hi,
i have tried to cook and flash a own rom with this kitchen without success.
The cooking process works well and give a successfully message, but after flashing, every cooked rom hangs (freeze) with the following text on the Touch screen "Gerät wird für den ersten Start vorbereitet".
I`ve tried it also with mtty but without success.
The same problem happens when I load a *.erv file from the kitchen and try to start the phone after flashing.
My used Hard SPL is olinex 1.93.
The cooked rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=590090 boot correct and work after flashing.
Somebody any idea?

Short question. Just did a ROM with Opera 9.7 cooked in (since no Opera at all has some negative effects like stocks tabs not working properly) and noticed that I cannot find a switch for turbo. Isn't the 9.7 version suppsed to be equipped with turbo? The help even says so but the part of the settings where it should be (in the display section) has no turbo switch. Am I doeing something wrong?

Hi, Pls help me.

I use D2X R1.1 WWE kitchen create a ROM and flash for test only.
I have not deleted and added any APP,just load and create a ROM.

But now, my phone has serious problem.
The phone can not do any action when I install some additional APP.
I can do soft-reset only, then after long time, system clue on Align Screen and running Customize, like hard-reset.
I install additional APP again, the above situation issue again.

I flash other ROM issue by yozgatg, like D2X R1, D2X R1.1, D2 R4.3. But same result.

Who can help me?

Great kitchen. Tweaked and cooked my own rom and so happy with it. I do, however, have one problem. Whenever I click on "all people" of the people tab manila crashed and simply restarts.

I found a fix to this problem in the manila r1.5 thread, but the link was dead. Anybody have a solution for this problem?

Pardon me guys, I'd like to report a strange behaviour both on this kitchen and another one (EVK too): I'm attaching my buildlog.txt for reference.
I get to build and flash but on first boot, after the message that windows would be loading in a while (yellow/orange background), nothing happens. I can switch the screen on/off and if I tap the screen the message goes away but it isn't going anywhere and stays on the yellow/orange screen. I've added a few packages but don't remember I took any away... Strange thing, it happens the same with another kitchen I've tried... How may I know what I'm doing wrong or what package should I exclude? Thanks in advance!
ps. already tried modifying the .bat and .txt above but nothing changed... can you guess why? Anybody ever got that? I'm completely lost... :(

can be changed in Xipporterex and Rom tools, read the name from rom, then modify with whatever you want

this dialer is not compatible with WM6.1 so it's not going to happen i'm afraid

as for other languages, i'm not going to be adding anything since this is very time-consuming. Just to give u an idea when adding the French and Spanish languages:
For a complete language pack you need to dump 5 roms: Diamond, TouchPro, Diamond2 (wm6.1), Diamond2 (wm6.5), Leo), then u need to sort them out since there are various packages from various roms, then u need to tweak some of the app.reg files since they are a bit modified for some packages, also some files need to be copied over from Operatorpkg to the EXT packages, & more checking etc.

the old manila packages are not included, so u will need to get those packages from the R4.4 kitchen, also if u are going to use the old manila, u need to get the older H2W_ACCESSORY.dll file (also found in the OEMDrivers folder in R4.4 kitchen) to make BT A2DP compatible with the old manila

oh btw, the R5.2 is now released to public
check out the first post for the complete changelog (quite a big change compared to R4.4), and the download

btw a big request that all will have is how to make a videocall version, it's very simple: load up a default .erv file, then go to the Dialer section, disable (-) and enable (+) the following:

No they aren't. yozgatg hasn't updated those addons yet to work with the 5.2 kitchen. I believe it was stated in one post.

Also, noticed that the program tab had been disabled, and the Manila Start Menu is in this one. Is there a way to reenable the Program Tab? Do the mods from Manila 2.1 work for this situation?
