problem with no gsm

someone has given me an O2 xda 2 with custom firmware on it but when i switch it on i noticed it said no gsm on the screen. when i put a sim in it i get no signal whatever. anyone know how to solve it please?

I have have a T-Mobile MDA and it has just the same problem. I am using Ather's WM 6.1 on it. I tried to downgrade it to WM2003 or WM2005 but no change I still cannot use the gsm function. I hope somebody can help us here I will really appreciate it. :)

same problem. first ist worked with callmobile (t-mobile). after using a new o2 card one time i have no gsm. i have tried different cards. they all dont work.
