I'm not very sure about that .. I got this pic from UnwiredView.com (http://www.unwiredview.com/2010/01/29/microsoft-confirms-windows-mobile-7-announcement-for-mwc-old-i-mate-running-wm7-spotted/) it shows WM7 running on an old i-mate JASJAR..

the post says that the new requirements are as follows:
*Minimum RAM: 128MB (at least 256MB is recommended though)
*Minimum ROM: 512MB
*CPU: 600MHz ARM v6+
*3.6 inch display is not a requirement
*WVGA resolution is not necessary – WM7 phones will have various resolutions, including QVGA
*Compass is not a requirement (although it’s recommended)
*G-Sensor (accelerometer) is also not a requirement, but it’s recommended

Although that means that our poor little Elf(in)s wont be running WM7, but still you dont have to change to HD2.. I just hope this pic is true & not like the many rumors floating around right now :S

Guess only HD2 or Mega (Touch2) can install this.

yes microsoft is not in a mood to give wm7 to lower profile device.
all here have noticed that wm6.5 not running as good in elf or gene or any device with 64mb ram?
just like same story..
even elfin is not efficient to run 23xx series fluently.

hey... i dun mean no dis-rescpect..
but a..

i own an elf as you already know i believe..
and i'm RUNNING Windows Mobile 6.5
IT'S WORKING GREAT..!!

i update my device with every Onyx release..
(and rearly switch on to ahem series.. or another... just for a change)

o.. and by the way.. i prefer the windows without the big X on the bottom..

i dunno if that's the reason for my windows to run so smooth...
or maybe it's cause i own the device which has 128mb RAM and 256mb ROM ?!

i checked out some of the stories posted on the other sites..
they did mention the GUI motion sensor abilities..
pimpin' the new Windows Mobile 7 on the tip.. ^^,

even though i doubt myself.. when i hate it..
but still i have this hope maybe y'all can mess thing up for us..
(i meant that in a good way.. ^^,)

anyway... even if they do release this coco bango..
i'm sure it's gonna have certain versions of it too..

as i'm sure microsoft is gonna drop windows 8 (supports 128 bit) by 2012
but the beta release by mid 2011?!
as we see intel "i" series (i3, i5 and i7) poppin' up like it's hot... (well they are)

i dun think they're gonna drop their existing users.. heh heh..
i mean y'all can che out Ubuntu 9.10 or OSX... harh...

things are just getting crazier.. day-by-day... !
