Cool! Almost Everything Works :D
Runs decent, sometimes slows down when running certain apps.
Neocore 15.6 FPS
Froze once (when opening gmail) and rebooted once (when installing something from market) hmm... Maybe cause I'm using beautiful widgets clock and weather? or maybe cause i installed about 15 apps?
Wifi market downloads seem to be faster.
Bluetooth headset pairs and connects but its choppy(cuts off) while playing music.

The 27/9 update responds very fast in every way.
I have been testing for 3 hours and my battery has moved from 80% to 40 % with all applications except the android keyboard disabled.
Another problem is that the phone randomly reboots to the android PIN input screen roughly every 15 minutes.

First of all, thanks to everybody in this community how allow us to use or see Android on the X1. A special thank of course goes to Tremere.
Now some feedback about the latest release from Tremere.
It's the most stable one.
This are the problem found using android as main OS.
- I have not stable detection if the mobile it's charging or not.
- I have had only once the problem of mic mute.
- I try to use the X1 as MP3 player and I connect it to the car via the headphone I could only hear the right speaker.
And now one question, it's this version of android ready to connect to internet via GPRS or similar connection?

Hey guys Try out Xdandroid's new kernel released 23/9/10 with Tremere's build, and see what results u get in battery life :) I used their new kernel with 21/09/2010 [Xperia X1][FroyoRedux-Port][CM6][Testers needed][Neopeek]. Used Android for one and half hour and switched back to vm and it had only used 9%:D thats the best result i ever had. Grab kernel from thier Xdandroid wiki site:cool:
Am trying it also. Can't receive neither make phone calls. Having serious issues with com.google.process.gapps and android.process.acore Don't think my fiddeling was causing that. Don't know what this means either. Agree about battery!
I tried the same thing, my battery went wacko. From 100% in windows to 15% in android in like 30 minutes. Reboot, and then 10% in windows...
Connected charger, booted android, and then 10minutes later.... 100%... disconnected charger... 5 minutes of spotify... 5% battery.
hrmpf :)
I really hope batterymanagement will solve itself soon!
Thank you all great developers still hangin on to the X1!

In the latest release (27/9) voice calls still do not work properly - mic is not turned on when voice call is received, although it is turned on when a voice call is made.
There is a simple workaround - when you receive a voice call turn the speaker (yes speaker, not mic) on and off again.

here is the update after some more testing
If I switch to Android while the Mobile is charging on WM it work fine.
If I press the volume button the mic (or the speaker) turn back on again
To go on internet via GPRS I have updated the apn and switched on the wifi and then it works.:)

Firstly, thank you everybody in this thread and specially Tamere with whose help I have managed to run Android on my X1. Heartfelt gratitude man!
I have few queries the answers to which I haven't been able to find in the thread/ or probbaly missed those:
1) Battery doesn't charge?
Android worked perfectly with no glitches & I used it for the whole day. But it doesn't charge when connected with a charger, why? I had to switch back to windows to charge it again.
2) Syncing with PC?
I have windows 7 installed on my pc & wanted to sync my phone, but it doesn't recognise it, is there any app like activesync for winmo that i can use for data transfer with android?
3) Swype?
Can anybody help me with from where & how to install swype with this version of android. I have it in my sd card for windows but can't access it when running android.
I am a non tech guy so please excuse if any of my queries sound stupid or miniscule! neverthless thanks for all the help even till now. Cheers!

So far battery=better not much heat.
It kinda crashes for a second when changing the media volume while playing music or in game it crashes to bootscreen where "xdandroid" logo appears, it also does this on stand-by. So far from what I can tell, it's the most usable android build i've used. Good job and glad this is going far because having android on x1 is so cool ♥

Confirmed,
Crash when you try to change the volume and for standby also crashed too.
Battery gets warm (not hot that before) but in IDLE it must be cold.
Anyway, great work Trem! ;)

1) You have to start the charge of the battery before starting Android because Android can't see if it's plugged in.
2) USB isn't working for sync yet.
3) If it's an .apk file you can install it using a filebrowser that you can find in Market

If the music player and photo library dont read ur card...then go to the Panasonic SD card formatter 2.0 website and download the software...

As I have written in post #1506 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8335218&postcount=1506) mic mute issue was not fixed in 27/9 build.
Although there's everything fine when one makes a call there is a problem when one receives a call. In the later case mic is muted and the person who is calling you does not hear what you're saying.
In the post mentioned above I have given a simple workaround.
I believe I am not the only one who experiences it, but still nobody else has mentioned it after 27/9 release.
It is not present on Tremere's list of known issues in the first post.
Check whether you experience the issue and give some feedback, please.

I will write short tutorial for you...
1) Download MiniTool Partition for your PC (it's free)
2) On your mobile go to Setting>Connection>USB to PC; and select Drive storage mode (or something like that)
3) Connect USB to mobile and you will get new DISC on your PC
4) Open MiniTool Partition and you will se your memory card
5) Right click on your memory and select Delete
6) Now, click on unallocated space, Right click, Create
7) In new Window make this settings:
Partition label: (write) ANDROID
Create as: (select) PRIMARY
File System: (select) FAT32
After that click OK
8) After all this, in Left Down corner click Apply, wait a little to process done
9) Now you can CLOSE MiniTool, download LAST build with SYSTEM.ext2 and put files to memory card over Explorer
10) Run Haret.exe from SD card on your phone and wait 5-7 minutes
This is solution for many people who have problems with BOOTING ANDROID and other SD card problems...
I write this from my mind and maybe something look a little different.
I think Tremere can PUT THIS I FIRST POST, or just can PUT link to my post
Have a nice ANDROIDING,

Hi I managed to get the battery drain to reduce to abt 178ma wifi on standby 110ma (checked using current widget v1.6 can be found in this forum)
1) edited startup.txt LCD density to 230, remove msmdc nopwrsave, added pm.sleep_mode=1(not sure if the last helps)
2) turn off windows animations
3)used app quicksettings to bring android brightness to barest minimum
4)kill unnecessary apps
If this works for you please post here.

Hi!
First of all - thanx for this!
I'm having the time of my life with this installation.
Most things work great - and fast as well. I'm a happy camper folks!
No problems installing apps.
I strongly recommend Advanced Task killer Free to keep your ongoing processes to a minimum.
Yes, I do have problems with the Froyo "freeze" when changing the volume.
Also been having problems when recieving phone calls. I hear them, they don't hear me.
Well, lucky them...:-)
I can always call them back, right?
Of course I'll be happy when these minor glitches are fixed.
Meanwhile I'm just enjoying actually having Android on my X1.
A minor tip though:
Disable your illumination in Windows mobile before switching to Android. I had some really wierd noises coming out of the phone and the lights kept flashing, even while charging.
Now that will just eat the crap out of your battery, right?
I'll keep an eye on how it actually effects the battery time and to quote Arnold S: "I'll be back..."
Had quite a lot of problems with ye olde "android.process.acore"-crap.
Be really careful when syncing gmail and facebook-contacts. Seems they can mess up things a bit if they're not correctly filled in. Loads of info on that in other forums.
I actually had to do a complete restore of the whole installation because of that.
Might also have been because my SD-card was only 4GB and I really did download a bunch of apps and tried to sync about a million Spotify-playlists...:-)
16GB is in the mail, coming my way. That's also a recommendation.
Anyway, sorry if my english ain't that great.
I'm from Sweden. Not a great excuse, but the only one I have handy at the moment.
Keep up the great work!

just gave it (27/9 completed package) a try for couple of days and everything goes smooth. It's really a wow job. The only problems I experienced are 2.
1. got frozen when turned it off and had to soft reset to get back to winmo.
2. music, gallery, even the android system tells me no sdcard, which is definitely not true. I tried the terminal from the dev tools and could cd to sdcard and ls the content on it.
I can live with the first problem, but definitely not the second. And re-formatting sdcard is not a possible option to try because I got a lot of applications under winmo installed on the sdcard.
could anyone please share any idea how to fix the sdcard problem, which would make it a daily use android system on Xpedia, at least to me. :)
Thanks a lot in advance.

first, make sure you still have more than 500mb on your card.
1. download the complete package on the first post.
2. extract it into the root directory on your card.
3. double click haret to run it.
4. wait about 10 minutes and you should be in andriod.

It seems that the package can only run in either root or Andboot under root directory, which sounds like it was hardcoded somewhere in the program for Andboot directory.
Themere, could you please confirm that?

Hi, first of all, thanks so much for such a nice and interesting share for the newest Froyo 2.2. I have just update my X1 last night with this thread, and the result is impressive.
Everything is very nice when testing except the followings:
It drains my X1 bettery power (2 times more than WM6.5) and the phone is warm all the time.
I am living in Bangkok, Thailand using Xperia X1 on I-mobile 3GX--this rom is working well with this ISP (Show 3G, and the speed test is really nice)
Hope you all guys, the devs--can further your work updating this rom for all of us to share and appreciate...
Just only the baterry problems.....

I just wanted to add that I have the same problem, the mic is muted when I receive a call, and yes the workaround is functioning but is a bit complicated to switch the speaker on and off during every call.
Everything else works just fine, thanks a lot and keep up the good work.

You don't have to switch the speaker on and off. Pressing the volume down button to lower the volume a bit will activate the mic.

Xdandroid (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711692") port for XPERIA
I am working to port the main Android distribution for HTC devices, xdandroid (http://www.xdandroid.com) to the XPERIA. The fix for the screen flip is now present in their source repository and hopefully the kernels will merge soon.
maybe you can contact me,
i heard you also wrote a battery driver ?
(i also did some battery things for the git branch kernel from phh, which is for all devices ...
maybe you find the time to contact me or maybe we can talk on IRC #htc-linux

Hi everybody, i just test this android 2.2, it's very good and promising.
Problems i have :
-1 out of 2 times, i can heard phone network (bilibip bilibip xD) and many strange song in my phone... I'm worry about that.
-When i exit Android, it freeze.
-Android Market's App don't work (4/5, especially games).
-Bad access to Market.
-Battery life is very bad when the system crash.
Can we have a better performance if we put Android directly in the phone memory ?
Sorry my english sucks.. So in French :

Runing android will save battery, but the xperiax1 does not have much internal memory.
(calculations shown)
Internal memory space (xperiax1):
295.40MB total availible
Assuming that you used a rom that gives the most free space (I used an 826x rom):
76MB used
Remaining free space:
295.40MB - 76MB=219.40MB left
Only just the data.img for android:
256MB(not including the modules, system.ext2)
219.40MB - 256MB= -36.60MB
(overshot the internal storage by 36.60MB)
Unless the android devs can compress every file for android, theres no chance in running android from the internal storage

After almost one month of testing I can say this:
1. WiFi controler def. not work because, when i disable WiFi on Windows, boot in Android (wifi is off) and battery usage is 140-150mAh, but when i enable it in Windows, then boot Android and turn of WiFi battery usage is 240-280mAh. So maybe other things like GPS, camera, etc. staying enabled and decreasing battery life.
2. Speed is not good at all. Android must work 100% smooth on 500+Mhz and 384MB RAM memory. Now it maybe at 20% of maximum speed i think. It's look like some driver is missing or something like that...
3. Sleep mode is stupid. I think processor clock for sleep mode can be higher when developers solve problems from 1st my conclusion. It need to be 150Mhz+ (i think that :D)
4. 3D Hardware acceleration is really bad, again i think VGA driver is missing for X1
5. Charging must be solved (together with 1. conclusion) because it is most important thing for one MOBILE DEVICE...
6. Mic mute must be solved too
7. Sound from speaker in Speaker sleep mode are still there
Anywhere i am maybe a little watching this from critical aspect because i want to replace Windows on my smartphone asap. This is really good progress for now and TREMERE congratulation !!!
Please if you can release fixes for some thing i write up and it would be a biggest progress ever i think ;)
Keep on doing great work on this project and I am here if I can help !!!

Hello, maybe i can help about your question.
- first you must download this file 'xperia-xdandroid-20101027.7z' from tremere's
- extract this file (will contain more than 1 files)
- for less confusing, cleanup your SDcard and make sure it formatted in FAT32
- copy all the extracted files and folders to your SDcard directly. just spread it, NO ROOT folder!
- Hit! the 'haret.exe' file from your phone
- wait, and you will see a lot sentence in black screen, wait and be patient
- android will cleanup your ram and fill it with android system (something like that) :p
- you will see the XDANDROID logo. than pray... all is done
or maybe you can see from this thread 'forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=650559'
(sorry for my bad english)
good luck!

I have successfully set up wireless internet connection, but the Browser insists that I don't have internet access. I know I have internet access because I can update the weather on AccuWeather application and updated my location and map in Google Maps. So I have no idea what's the problem.
Also I have problems to configure my google account. When entering the Gmail application, it tells me I have no accounts, on the attempt to set up the account but the display screen shows nothing, just goes black with the title "Setting new account."
This problem was not present in Android 2.1.
Can someone help me. I appreciate the cooperation.
Greetings.

Except this call problem everything else works great (no camera, did not try bluetooth).

Hi there.
I have an idea for Tremere. There has been released new version of android on our X1. Sp3dev made a beautiful battery driver! 10% per 7 hours! That would be awesome to see this in your build! Your build is very funcionally but the battery isn't great.
So you need to add:
-Battery driver
-3D acceleration
-More stable fix
-Sound fix
-QWERTY shouldn't work 24/7 but only when you slide it out
-Maybe someday FM Radio
-Camera
And that's it :D You should have a donate button too!

You can all become fan pages of the facebook page called ( Xperoid ) which we update the latest news on. I am one an Admin there & hopefully will help anyone who needs help. Hi All,
Just a heads up that as Tremere's project is now discontinued and as I'm now having a spring clean of my hosted space that I'll be removing all the X1 android stuff from my server.
This means the old East Coast mirrors from last August will no longer work.
Good luck to whoever now continues this project.
My X1 sits there waiting for something shiny to flash, meanwhile I've moved my life onto newer handsets like most.
