Last.fm 1.9.6 unlocked for international paid subscribers

Hey everyone,

Here is an unlocked version of the official Last.fm app for Android. This version should let you listen to the radio if you are outside of the US, UK and Germany and are a paid subscriber.

This is only for paid subscribers outside of the US, UK and Germany.
This is not for listening to the radio without paying for a subscription.

If you have the official version of the Last.fm app (from the market) you must uninstall it manually before installing this version!

Why should I use so stupid application that wants to create a login? It's a lot of other, perhaps TuneIn Radio is absolutely great... And he can play radio stations from around the world...

Well, then you miss the point of last.fm, why buy a DVD player if you have a TV? ;-)
Anyhow, it doesn't work for me (in Sweden).. luckily the older versions still work well, like 1.6.6..

Okay. Then it is as I expected. If you have a paid subscription then it will let you use the radio. It can't bypass getting the subscription it just lets you bypass the restriction on listening to the radio with a subscription outside of the US, UK and Germany.

The app is available under GPL version 3. It is perfectly fine. They may not like the modifications made but the GPL says I can make them.

Your Last.fm profile shows that you aren't a subscriber. As it says in the first post, this simply removes the region lock that blocks out paid subscribers.

It worked for a few weeks but now when choosing an radio station I get the error: Station Not Available Last.fm Radio is not currently available on mobile devices in your country.
I am using a Galaxy S I9000 running android 2.3.3 LiteNing rom 5.4 in The Netherlands.
Hopefully there is a solution for this

If the last.fm mods don't work, try KLastFM (http://androidunderground.blogspot.com/2011/06/free-lastfm-for-everybody-with-klastfm.html). It's on the market, and it works everywhere on the planet. It even works without a subscription, so free last.fm is available outside UK/US/DE too.

It is working exactly as expected. You need a paid subscription for it to work. It will not work without a paid subscription.

Here's the long awaited 1.9.0.
Hopefully it stabilizes some of the old version's quirks.
Had to fix a some things to get it to build, I think the repo is in a bad state.

Last.fm will let you listen to an "artist radio". What this means is it will make a radio station of music similar to or related to this artist, often including the artist in question in the mix.
