I am currently learning Java using the book: Java, A Beginner's Guide by Herbert Schildt. The purpose of learning Java is to develop Android apps. However I am confused on how to proceed with this. What should I do after completing the book? Is the knowledge enough to start learning Android Development? If yes, then where should I start?

In my opinion you should start coding right now. It is the best way to learn coding. Of course read the book to the end but start making easy apps and follow some tutorials on the internet. Another good position is 'Thinking in Java' by Bruce Eckel.

Try to write easy calculator - first in pure java, next in android.

There are some great video tutorials on java and eclipse here http://eclipsetutorial.sourceforge.n...lbeginner.html

Very interesting, but only if you plan on using eclipse. Check them out!
