I am not sure about odexed roms. But @serajr 's superuser mod should work in odexed and deodexed roms.. Without any problems.. Ok do this

Install any launcher. Any third party launcher..

Then install root explorer

Copy home.apk to system
Then move home.apk to system/app with permission.
Remove home.odx
Reboot

Google how to use root explorer and permissions. U can find..

Use it with ur own risk

Bro, Let me tell u why I was asking for fixed version of home.
I used the Big icon version + Xperia Xposed module to lower icon size. The problem with it was battery consumption. even the overnight battery drain was 5-6%
Couple of days ago, I flashed the modified 48dip version (and no use of xperia xposed now ) and battery backup came back to normal. overnight drain only 1%.
I dont know if Xposed module is the cause of the battery consumption. But surely there is noticeable change.
I tried very much to find n change the icon size using apktool but I could not find where to make changes

I checked here bro. the entries for icon_image_size is already 48 dip. even I changed it to 32 dip but still I got big icons.
also checked remaining folders but all entries were set to 48dip ( dimens.xml in sw360dp )
So I thought there's some other trick like in smali folder
