Desire 500 root help
Hello everyone,
software 1.34
hboot 1.03.001
radio 14.16.36Q4.22
I was following this tutorial in order to root the Desire 500 and get the James Rom. I followed the steps in the tutorial up to the point where I got the Ultimate Kernel (version 8 no overclock for 1.34) to get rid of the S-ON/S-OFF things.
Everything worked fine without any error messages in cwm-recovery but I still do not seem to have root rights (phone does not boot with SU-App, after getting it from the store it says I do not have root rights). Going back to the bootloader, it still says S-ON
Also, I am still unable to "mount system" and "mount devlog" in recovery.
The last thing that is a bit weird is that when I booted the phone for the first time after these procedures, it seemed it was not completely wiped. It still had some apps on it and I did not have to go through the "first phone steps" as usual. Shouldn't unlocking the bootloader have wiped the device completely?
I wonder how to get the root rights done, should I repeat the steps from the beginning? What is the best option to do a complete wipe in recovery?
I hope this thread is still alive and someone has some ideas - thanks in advance
