Sorry if this is common knowledge or if I'm just not finding it on the forums, but I recently did the JB RUU on my phone, then upgraded to Kitkat 4.4.2 using the built-in update option. Everything is running fine except that I want to use SDFix to access my SD card fully, but it requries root.

I've searched around the forums but can't seem to find a guide and/or the files required. Could someone give me a quick explanation or perhaps give me a link to a guide?

Thanks!

First, you need to have your bootloader unlocked. HTC has basic instructions on that.
Second, you need to install TWRP from this thread. Basic instructions for flashing are on TWRP's page.
After that you can boot into recovery (adb reboot recovery) or power off phone then hold Vol - and Power and select recovery when phone turns on. Once in TWRP, reboot the device it will ask if you want to root it. Let it install root and then when phone reboots you should get a notification to install SuperSU, click it and when it finishes you'll have root access.
