Has anyone tried google's Cardboard VR with a Droid RAZR HD or Max?

How did it go?

Really wanting to take the plunge for $20, but only if the results are worth it!
(yes, I'm broke)

Thanks!

Well, to answer my own question...
Yes, it works fine.
All but the magnetic switch (our magnetic sensor appears to be at the other end of the phone).

If you are building your own, relocate the magnets.

Otherwise, just tap the middle of the back of the thing with any handy magnet (you can use the one from the switch just fine.)

Amazing device, well more than $20 worth of fun.

DX.com can set you up for less than $10, if you are patient.

Enjoy!

OK, another tidbit
Also on dealextreme (dx.com) is a plastic version with adjustable lenses, a headstrap, and other niceties.

I had so much fun with the cardboard version I sprang for one of these.

Hasn't arrived yet, but I'll review it when it does.

It's called a ColorCross Universal Virtual Reality 3D & Video Glasses for 4~7" Smartphones
SKU: 336607

I'll try to post the URL, but you can go to dx.com and search for that SKU if it gets censored.

http://www.dx.com/p/colorcross-unive...s-black-336607

(I am not affiliated with dx, just like buying cheap stuff.)
