My rooted 4.4 Droid Maxx is acting up - Huge Android OS battery drain.

If I factory restore the phone, does it maintain root?

What happens to the wifi tether tweak from this forum - would I have to reapply it?

Thanks

HOM ( House of Moto ) Save data. Tread carefully though ! Sam expects you to read the instructions at least 3x and if you bork your phone and he feels you haven't he's going to drag it out and make an example of you. Other than that its the tool your looking for

People say wiping cache partition fixes this issue, so go ahead and do it.

To answer your question a restore will wipe root and the tether mod.
