I have been flashing phones for a few years now as a hobby and want to pass on my knowledge and advice to others making this transition.


A few things I want to do when time allows as I work a full time job and have a family..
..

1. Show people that you can pull Verizon Keys/Pass without having to use a donor (This is not very easy due to all the different rev. of phones and also Freeware Flashing Programs limitations......)


2. Write a guide that people can follow using Freeware programs like DFS/QPST to flash these devices.


3. Keep a list of PRL's that work with Page Plus with no roaming symbol...


4. Make this a thread that people can come to and discuss issues etc..... And Mainly Help Each Other.......


Current Status is that I can pull keys/pass on Verizon S3/Note 2, Sprint S3/Note 2, Some US Cellular S3 and Note 2 phones and get 3G with no donor.... I have remote flashed several phones for members here on XDA and they can verify it works.... (Please chime in)

The only issue right now is that I can only make this work using paid version of CDMA Workshop and some manual writing to EFS.......

I've never liked at&t and the rep for tmobile has been its known for prepaid and shotty service. Thing is now, I see more and more people moving over to tmobile and are loving it. Its cheaper per month than verizon and service in my area in NJ is pretty much the same as verizons. Plus there are some features like the wifi calling, the hspa+ coverage, lte. that make it pretty attractive. But the kicker on whats making me consider the change is the phone selection. Verizon seems to always be lagging behind and I'm tired of having to wait for new phones to hit verizon and for updates to be released. I officially flashed my first custom rom with no fail this morning. I installed Jelly 'beans' build 15. This was extremely beginner friendly. I preformed a super wipe and went from there. Downloading the Beans file to my phone took forever however being that it is my first download that may be normal idk. Again thank you all so much!

I then went out and bought a new charger, which came with a micro usb cord to see if that helped. Plugged in the new charger while using my old micro usb cord, still same outcome. Then used the new micro usb cord and old charger, charging went back to normal, problem solved! I would of never thought that the cord would malfunction from day to day use after such a short lifespan. But after reading some reviews and with the potential of other phones coming out this summer I was second guessing myself. The real deciding factor was when I flashed MOAR's rom on my S3 that added some of the s4 features. After a day with the rom I cancelled my order to wait and see what other phones are going to come out. I'm a bit dissapointed that the S4 isn't head over heels different than the S3 to make it a no brainer for me.
