I installed the newest version into My Storage, but had difficulty pinning it onto the start menu (because both shortcuts have the same name).

After renaming the old one to Google Maps (old) I managed to pin the new one onto start menu and unpin the old one :)

But now the new one shows the old one's icon. If I rename it to Google Maps (new) then it shows the new icon, otherwise it shows the old icon.
