Default [ROM] MegaKat Deodex V3 Stock Based Tw 4.4 KK

MegaKat V3 Deodex: based on udne4 stock touchwiz kit kat rom for Galaxy Mega I9205

V3 Update: yes any new users just coming to megakat on v2 can follow the same instructions but using v2 instead of v1. Just follow the correct method for i9205 User's or i9200 users..

V3 if coming from V2...follow flashing instructions above drive links

***Mega I9200 users your covered but have an additional step of flashing the kernel...see below

Features:

Deodex
Zip aligned
Apps2sd built in system
*SU binary needs re rooted in recovery: see instructions
Super Fast
Optimizations from megafire builds, note 3 kk and jb roms, as well as my several other of my builds to make this rom the best possible
Extremely fluid animations
Lock Screen Zero Lag or Delay
Camera Zoom and Shutter are instant...photos are taken so fast and clear that I'm actually amazed...and they're storing to external sd that fast
3d Graphics and Rendering Optimized
Framelocked at 60fps throughout the entire ui and system, even thru most benchmarks
Fastest Browser of any of my devices or builds...back loading previous page is instant
One of my cleanest builds in over 135 roms to date on 31 devices
All Knox Apks and Lib files removed from system
Rebuilt touchwiz launcher and system ui for faster rendering and app launching
Dalvik and Cache optimizations

Basically...If you enjoyed my megafire roms your gonna love Megakat

Note: due to some binary issues with kk and all the knox and selinux junk, I pre installed all the super su files and binaries but full root is done in Philz recovery enabling my supersu binaries in the rom...no more red lines on boot screen

Instructions: YOU MUST READ AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY OR NO ROOT/FAILED FLASH IS POSSIBLE

***I9205 USER'S: ALREADY ON MEGAKAT JUST CLEAN WIPE AND FLASH

Mega i9205 First Time User's Instructions

1: download kit kat base rom i9205xxudne4 from sammobile.com or live.samung-updates.com

Stock kk rom link:

Stock Rom Drive Link: thanks Samuel

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxA...9RenYzQlRfcUU/

From Samsung updates:

http://live.samsung-updates.com/deta...05XXUDNE4.html

2. Use odin to flash udne4 base rom in pda slot of odin...i use odin 3.09
3. After odin flashing stock kk flash this....
Philz recovery: flash this in pda slot of odin exactly the same way as the stock rom before it

https://mega.co.nz/#!3JoTAK6T!i4s1kN...VuXbpbCtzU5lxg

4. Reboot into Philz cwm and make a backup of stock kk (highly recommended)
5. DIRTY FLASH MegaKat v9xxx.zip (dirty flash means do not wipe data or factory reset/don't wipe dalvik cache either)
6. Let MegaKat v3 boot as usual
7. Power down and then boot into recovery
8. Under Philz advanced options in Philz recovery: click Re-root the system...click yes...you'll see success install SuperSu from play store message
9. Reboot and install SuperSu from play store
10. Enjoy lol

Mega i9200 Users Instructions...thanks to shivwest for the write up

Alright here it goes, basically there are two ways of going about this, a modified version of your method and the other is coming from any other rom.

The first way:

1: download kit kat base rom i9200xxudne4 from sammobile.com or live.samung-updates.com

Stock kk rom link:

http://samsung-updates.com/details/2...00XXUDNE4.html

2. Use odin to flash udne4 base rom in pda slot of odin
3. After odin flashing stock kk flash this....
Philz recovery: flash this in pda slot of odin exactly the same way as the stock rom before it

https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_...s3gxx.tar.md5/

4. Reboot into Philz cwm and make a backup of stock kk (highly recommended)
5. DIRTY FLASH MegaKat v9xxx.zip (dirty flash means do not wipe data or factory reset/don't wipe dalvik cache either)
6. Let MegaKat v3 boot as usual
7.Download Grakernel from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2597784 (get the latest TW version) and put it on your SD card.
8. Power down and then boot into recovery
9. Under Philz advanced options in Philz recovery: click Re-root the system...click yes...you'll see success install SuperSu from play store message
10. Wipe cache and dalvik cache and install the kernel using install a zip in CWM.
11. Reboot and install SuperSu from play store
12. Wifi will work too!

The second way (doesn't even require going through odin)

1. Use odin to install Philz CWM using PDA and the file from this link:
https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_...s3gxx.tar.md5/

2.Download Grakernel from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2597784 (get the latest TW version) and put it on your SD card.

3. Reboot into recovery, make a backup of your current rom (doesn't matter what rom, but is highly recommended) and simply wipe to install a new rom and clear dalvik cache.

4. Flash the MegaKat zip and wait for it to complete.

5. Flash the Grakernel zip.

6. Go into philz settings and re-root the system and reboot.

7. Install SuperSu from play store and everything should be working.

Using this method you can even come straight from megafire although I can't test if this works on the old knox-free bootloader so you may still have to flash the UDNE4 firmware first.[/QUOTE]

I9205 Users
V2 Instructions for Flashing

To install v3*

Coming from v1 you can simply wipe and flash normally

1. Make backup of v2
2. Wipe data factory reset/wipe dalvik/wipe cache
3. Flash*
4. Let boot
5. Reboot to cwm
6. Root under philz advanced settings re root system*
7. Reboot after rooting in Philz cwm*
8. Enjoy*

Dirty flashing is same as above but don't wipe data at #2 only dalvik and cache...if dirty flash has issues wipe and start over clean...as everyone knows I always recommend clean flashing to get the best out of the rom*
***In testing dirty vs clean flashing v2 the difference is massive...over 500 points in quadrant alone, much less the user speed and overall experience is so smooth it's like silk on a clean flash...while dirty is still fast it's nothing like a clean flash of v2 and clean setup

I9200 Users: Instructions for Flashing V2

Coming from V2 you're gonna follow the same instructions as the i9205 User's, except after you flash the rom you're gonna have to flash grarak kernel for compatibility...that's the only difference

It would be 1, 2, 3 flash....4 reboot...4a flash grarak kernel
5. Reboot....ect

Enjoy

***Known Issues: the only issue is a bug in KK base rom that causes glitch video playback of recorded videos using mega camera...by simply lowering the resolution from full 1080p which kk has issues with to 1280 x 720 720p setting everything works perfect with no noticeable difference in video quality

Thanks to Phil for his amazing modded cwm
Thanks to chainfire for the supersu and binaries as always
Thanks to shivwest for the i9200 write up
Thanks for Grakernel grarak

***The choice to flash my roms is your choice and your choice alone...i take no responsibility for what you do with your device...

No the bootloader does not get flashed in roms only in odin...and no you have to follow the instructions like I wrote them...or else I wouldn't have bothered writing them out specifically...you get status flashing errors if you don't follow my method
