Beats Solo/Solo HDs' Monster control talk kind of works... Volume rocker doesn't do anything, but middle button pauses/plays music and the mic works for calls, whatever else.

Haven't tried an app to assign volume keys some other actions, if possible.

I am using the HTC RCE190, pretty decent sound and the buttons for stop/play and next are working the one for the volume is not. Still a pretty decent pair of Headphones for 20eur

I use those cheap Meelectronics M9P. It works pretty well and does produces really good sound. A bit bass heavy though.
No volume control though.

Every headset with a button does that, including the stock headset.

The Ety's are likely the best sounding in that list. I own the very simmilar ER4P, soundwise they beat any fullsize headphone I've tried even.
