Default [ROM][4.4.4][EXT4/F2FS][DeltaJen] LiquidSmooth-UNOFFICIAL v3.2 maguro/toro/toroplus

poo706 presents... LIQUIDSMOOTH - UNOFFICIAL

Question
What, no snazzy name for your ROM?
Answer
It's virtually identical to LiquidSmooth. You can usually dirty flash back and forth between official and unofficial.

Question
Virtually identical? So what's different?
Answer
  • Toolchain and optimizations from metalspring's OmniMetal
  • Unified EXT4/F2FS - no need to convert
  • Generally more frequent releases than LS official
  • Fancy kernel included
  • DeltaJen ROM update patches
  • Advanced Backup/Restore (details)
  • SlimKat APNs for toro only
  • CyanogenMod Calculator
  • Reverted option to display seconds in status bar clock to reduce SystemUI battery consumption
  • Launcher icon for Viper4Android
  • Removed Dash Clock, cLock, Apollo, Sound Recorder, Kernel Tweaker, and Liquid Updater
Question
What's DeltaJen?
Answer
ROM upgrade patches that are usually less than 10 MB. System will not be wiped. Unchanged files, files you changed, files you added, and files you removed will be all be ignored.
NOTE: You MUST be on a specific build of mine to use DeltaJen. For example, 8/18 to go to 8/21. You CAN'T use DeltaJen to go from 8/15 to 8/21, but you CAN go from 8/15 to 8/18, then to 8/21.

Question
I'm on Verizon and have MMS issues. Can you do anything about that?
Answer
As of 8/4/14, SlimKat's APNs are included with my toro ROMs. If you still have troubles, see this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...patch-t2833914.

Question
What gapps should I use?
Answer
I don't think it matters. I prefer Banks minimal, personally: http://forum.xda-developers.com/goog...gapps-t2012857

I'm not responsible for your device blowing up, yadda yadda yadda. I do a minimal amount of testing before releasing to ensure that I can dirty flash on my EXT4 toroplus and boot without issue. I do my best to not release broken builds, but I run a pretty minimal setup (ie no hover, themes, etc) and won't test everything. ART and F2FS support will be untested as well. As always make a nandroid just in case.

I was holding off because I saw some activity to the source by rk, so I thought he was gearing up for a round of official releases. Now it's looking like he was focusing on fixing the mms bugs on toro. I'm sure I'll build for the 3 gnexes in the next day or two.

My builds will be ext4. However, I created a Windows tool yesterday to convert gnex ROMs to F2FS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=121 . It uses the kernel from the 6/14 F2FS LiquidSmooth build that rkpeterson made. When I get some confirmation that it's working like it should, I'll add a link to the tool in the OP.

Yup! thanks for the prompt response.

And yes, I saw your tool yesterday, even tried to convert a rom (LS 6/18, successfuly) but didn't flash it...

Dezfull told me that you need proper commits (vold) in order to fully support F2FS. That's the reason why I didn't flash it, but I'm going to try today!

I've been using converted ROMs on my F2FS Nexus 7 for a while without issue. I know what you're talking about with the proper commits, but I still don't have a firm understand of what you actually gain from those commits. I've seen some people making connections between the vold commits and automatic trimming on F2FS, but that's it.
