Only PA gapps work, Wifi doesn't work, Google Search crashes when you say "Ok Google" (but seriously i loved Google Search's that option, it understand very well and very fast.) In my opinion wifi and other buggy stuffs will fixed in a few days. I can't imagine how 4.4 will be with Vanir ROM, it will be fast as F. (i meant Ferrari you damn bad guys

There is, but you need to use the Google Experience launcher.

OK So these features are coming from Google Experience in Google Apps.

always trusted XDA to whip up a 4.4 rom for maguro even though it's been dropped, but this fast? damn, this is an epic community.

About the new launcher in 4.4 ...
The new 4.4 launcher (well, most of it, anyway -- the Google Now stuff is probably not open source) is available in AOSP (packages/apps/Launcher3) -- it's just not enabled in the build by default. I think https://gist.github.com/steven676/7277173 (patch against build/) is enough to enable it.

I agree, gnex forums kicks ass! I see this community to be very lively for at least another year...

Yeah, that will fix wifi -- the commits I have (which I based on the mako and manta changes from 4.3 to 4.4) are https://github.com/steven676/android...bba950b61225fd and https://github.com/steven676/android...2fd17566cadc66 .

https://github.com/steven676/android...397c73b5088997 may help, but I think actual fixes require changes to SurfaceFlinger. I'm using the following patches against frameworks/native:

Even after this, the WebView (e.g. in the stock browser) isn't happy -- you get big black blocks and error messages in the log:
Code:
E/IMGSRV ( 8207): :0: gralloc_module_map: Mismatching lock usage bits 0xP...FHWR=0x00000033 vs requested usage bits 0xP...FHWR=0x00000100
E/IMGSRV ( 8207): :0: MapBufferObtainParams: Mapping buffer failed
E/IMGSRV ( 8207): :0: WSEGL_GetDrawableParameters: Failed to obtain buffer parameters
E/chromium( 8207): [ERROR:gl_image_egl.cc(36)] Error creating EGLImage: 12300
Firefox and standalone Chrome work fine, and an afternoon with the debugger didn't turn up any fixes. Ideas, anyone?

Also, I managed to trigger a system crash in the PowerVR drivers, which suggests the new SurfaceFlinger may be tickling bugs in previously unused code paths in the driver. (It might be worth disabling GLES2 support and trying the GLES1.1 path to see if stability improves.)

There are a handful of other changes gleaned from the mako, grouper and manta trees in my personal tree, which you're welcome to steal if you're building yourself:

https://github.com/steven676/android...commits/kitkat

I'm probably not going to work on this again for a while, as my Galaxy Nexus is my primary phone and I need it to actually work!

thanks steven,

not sure if going to GLES1.1 will help much.....but worse a try as you said.

about the native patch...for the first one thanks....that I needed...the second one I implemented but I need to flag it to do not break our other devices.

Whatever at least we can be happy that we do not have that urgent problems with maguro on 4.4

thanks again for your suggestions

cheers

kufi
