Hi all

My Google Nexus phone got briefly wet. After drying it out as best I could, everything at first seemed OK. Then I noticed it would not get any bars from the cell carrier, just a ghostly empty triangle. When scanning for available networks, it immediately says "Error while searching for networks". I've tried multiple Sims/carriers that are known to work, same results.

Also the phone now gets hot up by the camera, and now kills the batteries in less than two hours.

So is the radio fried, or something else, and what can be done? Can a component be replaced or it it the whole motherboard? Any fixes or tests to try?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Thanks Much!

Update: well I went out and got an emergency replacement phone, I needed it too much! So now I have an experimental and/or parts phone, if you want to suggest something interesting or radical to get it up and running. Thanks

Got to play with backup and restore, which is a bright side. Interesting to see what actually works, and how cross OS backups and restores work
