hey guys
just flashed 2.1.5 and all went fine. synced up with my google account and my market apps. then backed up the remaining apps with titanium and all was going great. then i rebooted right after that, and i seem to be in a bootloop with the "android" boot animation. after leaving it for like 5 minutes, i pulled the battery and rebooted and nothing changed. then i rebooted through clockwork mod and nothing changed. still in a loop now and really dont want to reflash but i guess ill have to.

anyone else experience this?

Start with wiping the dalvik in recovery and then rebooting.

reflashed the rom last night, and synced with android market, but didnt even install titanium, and went about my business. just now powered off and restarted the phone, and everything went fine; no bootloop at all. so the only difference between flash#1 and flash#2 was that the second time, i restored using titanium. why would that affect anything and cause a bootloop?

and sorry i couldnt test out with wiping the dalvik. i didnt see your post until just now, but what is it exactly that dalvik affects?

---------- Post added at 07:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:21 PM ----------

also i have a general question on clockworkmod:

some devs use the terminology "Format System" in their instructions on flashing a rom, after wiping all system data. what exactly does that refer to?

Wiping sometimes means only removing partition content.

okay I've run a few other Roms, and I keep finding myself coming back to Revolution because it is simply the most stable one out there. I love it. Might not have the bells and whistles, but it gets the job done. Thanks for a wonderful Rom. Top notch.

I'm sorry if you get asked this question a lot, but what's the status of the full wipe recovery script/zip. I really like that part of your TF101 distros. I can see though, that it's a tricky process to wipe the /data/media outside of of Android and not lose the block device that gets mounted as /sdcard on /data/media. Any tricks I can use from adb before your 'safest' version comes out? Also, which kernels are you recommending for your Toro version of ARHD?

Keep up the good work!

Anyone else having issues with the new Google Play market? Mine was just constantly force closing in the background and unable to launch, ended up having to roll back updates

Does the 2.1.5 version of ARHD fix some of the battery drain issues that were present in 2.1.4? I am still running 2.1.4 and I am trying to wait for the new cersion of ICS to be released but tge battery drain is starting to get on my nerves.

Also, ICS 4.0.3 (or 4.0.4 whichever is the next update) is still supposed to be released in March, correct? I have heard that some people think it might not roll out until May so I am hoping for some confirmation from you, mike. :)

Battery drain is related to many things, you should try yourslf :)

Yep! I installed the new 2.1.5 version of the ROM and now the battery seems like it is draining slower than ever before! :D

The main reason that I do not update right away is because I have customized the look of my phone extensively and whenever I install the newest version of your ROM sometimes it resets to stock looks. I am pretty sure that I did not run Super Wipe Lite once and it reset so I was holding off on updating since it takes an hour to get everything back to how I have it. :p

This time it did not reset anything though so that was very nice! I may just be incorrectly remembering that I did not use Super Wipe last time I updated when I actually did. Either way, I thought that it was going to reset to stock look when I updated and that is why I was holding off. Otherwise I would have updated right when you released the new version since the battery drain on 2.1.4 was almost back to running a stock ICS (maybe worse!). :p

On another note I will take what you said about the new update as no one really knows right now and it could be updated in a week or two or that it could be updated 2 months from now. :( I really hope that it comes out in a couple weeks at the most, I do not see why not since the version that other ROM makers use (can't remember what it is called) has been released already and is already on the other ROMs.

Thanks for the reply mike and again thank you for making such an awesome ROM! I may actually decide my next phone upgrades based on what phones you decide to support. :D

    Important notes:
    1. If you want to say "Thanks!"

There are many ways to show your support to the developer. You can:
    • Press the "Thanks" button.
    • Hit the donation button and "buy me a beer".
    • Share your opinion about my work and write some feedback in respective thread.
    • Advertise my work to your friends.
    • Rate my thread with 5 stars.
Every way of support is highly appreciated, but it's not expected!

    2. Sharing policy

This forum is about sharing. If you want to use any part of my work, please feel free to do it but remember about some simple rules:
    • Inform me about using my work by sending me a message. You don’t need my permission, just inform me.
    • Include link to my thread from where you took particular files.
    • Give proper credits for what you used.
    • When it comes to using my ROM as a base you are free to do it only if I don't have "Stock ROMs" thread available for particular device. If such thread exists, you are
obligated to take ROMs from there instead. These threads with "Stock ROMs" are usually updated within 24 hours from the moment when I release my custom ROM.

Sharing is one thing, but please respect some areas of my work like:
    • ROM name - "Android Revolution HD", "Android Revolution", "Revo HD", "AR HD" etc.
    • Graphics used in my threads, especially head-banners designed exclusivity for me.
    • Other parts of my work that are not supposed to be used by others without proper permission.
Please let me keep my threads design unique. I’m sure you can do something even better yourself!

    3. Support

If you have any issues or questions, please feel free to post them in the respective thread. Due to my commitments in real life I can't answer every PM, tweet or facebook post.
If you want to get the fastest and the best answer - ask the question in the thread. Every month I need to remove about 1.000 new messages from my XDA inbox. I’m sure it’s better if I spend this time cooking new ROMs.

    4. Signature banners for users

Due to the increasing number of users flashing my ROMs we introduced some time ago 3 special groups of members.
    • Android Revolution HD Recognized User – every user might get this rank with proper banner by being active in my thread (or threads).
Helping users to solve problems, answering questions or preparing threads with add-ons for Android Revolution HD are the most common ways to gain this rank. Just be active and we’ll contact you!

    • Android Revolution HD Advanced User – every user might get this rank with proper banner by doing some amazing modification, application, theme etc. for Android Revolution HD.
Creating simple bootanimation might not be enough, but you never know! Having Recognized User status before is not needed!

    • Android Revolution HD Supporter – every user who shared some server space with us (with proper bandwidth) will get this banner. Please keep in mind we can't use DropBox shared folders.
What we can use is minimum 20 GB of space and 10 Mbit upload speed. If you want to donate some server space to us, please contact me via private message.
Apart of those special banners, every user might use one of our amazing user banners collected in this thread.

Finally, thanks for using my work! I hope you will enjoy Android Revolution HD!

If i had to take a guess as to why you have 4 stars...it would be that this rom is based off 4.0.2 while every other rom has been updated. Likewise most top kernals are made for 4.0.3 so that also doesnt help. With that being said, this rom runs perfectly and i have zero problems with it. But i am patiently waiting for an update, as im sure many others also are.

Yes I agree with catmandu. Likely due to this ROM still being on 4.0.2. Even though it's relatively outdated it's still one of the fastest and smoothest ROMs out there. I, too, am patiently awaiting an update so that I can begin using other custom kernels. I appreciate everything you do Mike! However, I can understand why people are turned away (a week ago you said 4.0.3 was coming in a matter of days so it's just a bit confusing as to why we haven't seen it). I personally am patient enough, but others might not be so kind. You are doing all this for free, after all :)

I have no hardware to compile ROM from AOSP. So I need to use factory images, and no factory images were released for 4.0.3 yet. And I think it's not enough reason to rate my thread with one star. I've been through it with every single thread I have. There are always some pricks giving one star just for fun. I'm not paid for what I do.

Rating list should be public. I wonder if brave people will still be that brave.

Uploading 6.1.0 now for LTE users.

It seems that OTA will be release soon. This is great news, finally 7.0 :)

Performance Tweaks for Android Revolution HD

    • data_writeback journalism for /system, /data and /cache partitions.
This mod will turn ON data_writeback for all 3 partitions - system, data and cache. This will drastically improve I/O performance (mostly on write operations) at the expense of file system integrity in certain situations, like unexpected system shutdown. The risk is not extreme, but still bigger then regular. Use this to improve your system performance, but you flash it at your own risk!

    Download here:

Android Revolution HD EXT4 Tweaks v.0.1

    • Force GPU rendering on 2D operations.
This mod is working similar to "Render GUI with GPU" option in Development Settings. Flashing this will force whole system to use GPU rendering (instead of CPU) for all kind of 2D/3D operations. This might improve 2D operations performance, but keep in mind that some apps are not working correctly with GPU rendering. After using this mod you no longer need to tick "Render GUI with GPU" in settings. Even if un-ticked it will be still working. Flash it at your own risk!

    Download here:

Android Revolution HD GPU Rendering v.0.1
