I know when I went back to a 4.3 ROM from 4.4 or Lollipop, I had to downgrade TWRP as well. Went only back to 2.5 or 2.6 or something like that. Using the newer versions did not work and I believe I got the same message you did.
Yeah, I recall downgrading TWRP, and toggling mount /system to get purity to install correctly when I went back from 5.1.1 and 4.4.4...

Spoke too soon. I'm getting an error when flashing. Something about ro.product "Toro" ...[/QUOTE]

Same here and I downloaded twice, same size both times. Would this be the MD5#?

What version of TWRP are you using?

The MD5 for the ROM that I have on my device is:

a2d55926195a7015afdff00d6c5b0292

So, yes, you have the correct MD5.

Edit: I just flashed purity myself. I'm using TWRP 2.8.6.0, and I unchecked
/system prior to flashing the ROM .zip...

I also could not install the ROM. Not sure how to uncheck system or find out what version of TWRP I'm on. I'm still using the gooim app to go back-and-forth from recovery. Oh how I wish I never updated from 4.2. Or 4.3.

/system is under mount. Your recovery version should be displayed in either the left or right top corner of the screen... I use the materialized theme for TWRP, but that's where I see my version.

I flashed a different 4.3 ROM late last month and I had to go all the way back to a 2.6..... TWRP. I dont believe any TWRP in the 2.8 range is going to work. 4.3 is over 2 years old and I believe version 2.8 of TWRP and over came out within the last year. Try a TWRP in the 2.6 range and you should be good.

Hmm... I don't ask many questions, but am wondering if anyone still has a copy of the final version of purity, 10/31? I had it saved on my computer, but it's corrupt/unrecoverable.
