Default Unlocking my att phone thru AT&T on a custom rom

Does it matter that I'm running a custom rom and rooted when going thru AT&T to unlock my phone?

Not for me. I used the online unlock request form and they sent me a code to use.

Knox shouldn't be tripped though cuz I have never done an OTA since 4.1. I submitted the request already guess if it don't work I'll use the link. BTW that link didn't show. Also talked to them on the phone n they walked me through it if that matters

All you will need is a non-at&t Sim card and the code.

Turn off phone
Replace Sim card
Boot the phone
Enter the code at the box
Your phone is permanteny unlocked for all networks.
