Step one is to turn off USB debugging in the developer options.

Then follow what I said above.

went ahead and tried your recommendations, took 3 button presses, and quick recharges to keep 100% after pressing the button. The battery is brand new ANKER battery, my note is about 2 years old so the OEM battery was showing its age. I think one challenge is that none of the apps that work for looking at wakelocks work on 4.4.2 so now I have no idea what is waking up the phone, but it used to be the mdm_hsic one all the time, every now and then I would get the wifi one if I was on certain routers, especially at work where I have like 10 different brand routers going, it would kill it fast, so I would switch to LTE, full signal, and end up with the mdm_hsic locks.. frustrating never seen a phone have these issues, and all the apps I have are mainstream stuff, and none of them show up as using alot of data, or running, or causing the wake locks, its the android system pieces causing mine, was hoping 4.4.2 would cure this, not so much yet.

I'll have to try that, then! The wakelock thread is immensely long, and I've had very little luck with XDA's search feature. x_x

I would say it's fixed. Got great battery life today.

With some fairly heavy usage

Running EZKat ROM.
No Greenify.
