I have searched for quite a bit and I think I'm close, but I need some help getting it done.
I just got a Galaxy Note 3 from Telus and I would like to know if the phone is new or Refurbished. People used to be able to type in ##786# into the dialer and it would take them to the RTN menu.
This code doesn't work on Note 3.
So I rooted my phone, installed SU and FX file explorer with Root access.
I also Installed Terminal Emulator from the Play Store.
Entered the following commands:
Code: su echo -n ON > /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu
so I typed in echo -n ON > /system/app/hiddenmenu
After I did that I didn't get any response, it just went to the next line, so I assumed it worked.
I also navigated to this location and clicked on the hiddenmenu and opened it via text editor. It said ON
I also copied the hiddenmenu file and went to /efs and created a new folder named Carrier and pasted the hiddenmenu file.
I also went to build.prop and added a line at the bottom sys.hiddenmenu.enable=1
After doing all that, I entered ##786# into the dialer and I get the same message as before.
"USSD Code Running"
Then it says Connection problem or Invalid MMI code Press OK
I also came accross a few posts that were mentioning the app "Shortcut Master" I installed it and went into Secrete code explorer but I don't know which one to click on to get the refurb status.
