Yes...but in the case of the 4.2, the speakers are stereo.

I don't know about the S3, but the galaxy player definitely better than the S2. I honestly think the Galaxy Player 4.0 has on par sound with the Note 3.

The 4.0 and the 4.2 have different (but similar) soundchips...

No newer Samsung phones like the S2 and the S3 are using Yamaha Sound chips, while our devices are using the better ones from Wolfson.

The 4.0 is using the Wolfsson WM8994 while the 4.2 is using the Wolfsson WM1811. Both DACs are very similiar.

The exynos s3 uses a wolfson chip (I think the same one as the 4.2) and the Qualcomm one uses the native Qualcomm audio chip ( WCD9310)

I too knew that the S3 mounted a Wolfson. What about the S4 and S5? Are Yamaha chips that bad?
