I was wondering if it is possible to root my Galaxy S (I9000, 2.3.6, GINGERBREAD.DUJVG) with my mac.

I am facing issues trying to get the device recognised when using the online version of jOdin3 Casual Online, I have tried the phone in both Mass Storage and Kies mode (with debugging on) and can only access it sas a "usb device" in finder.

Is there any .zip files I can upload to the phones SD and run straight in recovery mode and by pass the ODIN process?

Any links to files and advice would be gratefully received. And sorry if this is a repeat thread - I did search the forums and a lot of the threads remain unanswered/out of date.
