Hi Smith, quoting you from another post, what's the recovery you using on the Moto G 2014? Is it the Philz one?

The Offical TWRP 2.8.5.0 (TWRP 2.8.6.0 seemed somewhat buggy) made by @luca020400 . Philz might be OK too (also made by @luca020400 ) but it's not 'official' and I never used it for CM12.1. Succes! It's worth the hassle!
By the way, my wife's S+ is on CM12.1 too now. And it's good!

@luca020400 :
Yeah, it did, but at a certain point I wanted to wipe cache and dalvik and then the slider didn't work. It became instable. Going back to 2.8.5.0 solved all the problems and they never came back!
2.8.5.0 it still fully compatible with the latest CM12.1!

On most things I agree with you. Not on this opinion however. No, it's not as smooth as on my Moto G 2014 of course, but close! Really: it's smoother than my Galaxy Tab 3 running stock KitKat!
No, my (or better, my wife's) S+ is not going down the drain yet!
It was the best bargain I ever had: bought it 3 and a half years ago from a colleague for €25,-. According to her it was 'broken'. Somehow she messed up the stock Android 2.3.?. Besides the battery was bad. So a new battery and @broodplank1337 's cm10, and phone was back alive! A little later I switched to ADC-Team because @broodplank1337 switched to another device.
Now I'm using another device too, but the S+ is happily being used by my wife running Lollipop build by the AriesVE DevConnection Team, especially by @Christopher83!!!
