I'm getting H+ at work which is amazing, I've never seen the phone stay on H+ for more than half a second. I would love it if I could get a H+ signal all the time.
100% stock = yes
AFAIK this hasn't made it onto samfirmware yet.
That's great news.
Could you check "gradient banding" by opening nexus live wallpaper... Earlier it looked awful, anyone could see banding there. So even if you had not noticed it earlier you would know now either way.
Waiting for your reply.
I have created a deodexed version of the rom for my use with the following changes. You are welcome to try it till Master Darky releases his version. Please let me know. I am uploading it atm.
I am trying to get the extended menu working, but there are a lot of changes in android.policy.jar. So i need to learn how to get it working first.
- Deodexed/Zipaligned
- Non wipe edition ( you retain apps )
- Slim ( removed unwanted Samsung apps )
- Included cf-root kernel KG1
- Included stock modem
- Crt + Overscroll Effects + battery mod
- Themed ( ported litepro black theme with miui status bar icons )
- Included maps app with universal navigation
A few screenshots.
I agree. Worse than KG1.
Hi,
Should Heimdall 1.3 be able to flash this rom successfully?
I've extracted the .zip file, then tar'd the .md5 files up - Heimdall reports firmware.xml is missing.
Cheers
Meaning, stock or stock with hacks ( crt+overscroll+battery mod )?
KG2 is more refined, smoother and feels like a release version. Gtalk video works. I believe what I have is the package that will be released via KIES.
Many people reported, data speed has improved quite a lot - also much stabler 3G / H / H+ connection. It doesn't switch between 3G and H / H+ that much anymore.
One neat feature that Samsung have added is the ability to adjust the time limit when the screen turns off until the device is locked and requires the pin to unlock it.
CPU time for Android OS is still high but less than before. KF3: 10 min/hour, KG2: 7 min/hour.
Battery life seems better and lost less juice during idle. KE7: 2%/hour, KF3: 1,2%/hour, KG2: 0,8%/hour
Finally clock position at lockscreen (wallpaper lockscreen) is back at where it should be. And now it looks in place.
Coming from KF3, i noticed that i can just tap the Picture Frame widget to change picture. I had to remove 1st before.

Hmmm... I wonder if I flash everything but the CSC, would I retain my old CSC?
I currently have the XEU CSC from the KG1 firmware (stock and rooted). I also if this would wipe my data. I have a feeling it is a "yes" since Odin is more like a HDD imager, while CWM is more like replacing files.
