MTP works and Paradoxxx has made a lot of battery tweaks in the 14.04 build.
I would not know though because I have not had problems with the battery in the 10.04 build(80 hours 25% left, 1 hour screen on, though I turn on airplane mode at night) where many people were complaining about high battery drain. I did not even use a different kernel.

Foxhound Psycho Mantis
Siyah v3.1-Foxhound+

Was using Checkrom v6 before, and wanted to try a ICS base rom which matched the performance of Checkrom. After trying many ICS roms I come across Foxhound. All I can say

Foxhound PsycoMantis.
Nice, with all the mods I like, with less Samsung stuff, stable, and with updates coming fast enough!
Now coming with the Siyah kernel.

Im on ICS resurrection v1.3 with siyah kernel 3.0.1

Loved this Rom from 9.4 and have stuck with it since due to great support on the thread from the likes of GaboWinter and Westcrip.

Beautifully smooth and aesthetically pleasing ROM with good speed as well. Once battery drain issues are sorted this ROM will be perfect!

Also has the Samsung bloatware removed!

Reason is because I want to enjoy pure ICS experience...
