I'm currently trying to set up cyanogenmod 10 on my rooted S2, running on JB 4.1.2, and I think I'm using the correct gapps, but I'm encountering this problem during installation:

"Unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" followed by...
"Unfortunately the process Setup Wizard has stopped"

And these messages continue to pop up even after I press "ok", which effectively stops the installation process.

I've been using gapps-jb-20121011 (because I'm running on 4.1.2, not 4.2.x), and the latest rom version, which is cm10.1-20130224-NIGHTLY-i9100.

I've looked at previous posts in this thread concerning the same issue, and the closest user used gapps-jb-20121012 to correct his/her problem. BUT, I'm concerned about using this gapps since all the developer notes warn that it's not compatible with 4.1.x... only for 4.2.x.

Am I missing something here? If anyone can give me a heads up on something that I'm doing incorrectly, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

C'mon dude... Why don't you give a closer look to what you do?
You're trying to install gapps for 4.1.2 (20121011) over cm10.1 which is 4.2.2... If you want so badly to stick to 4.1.2 you'd have to install cm 10... Latest cm10 nightly is the one of December 16th 2012, after that date has been discontinued for cm10.1 (4.2.1 and then 4.2.2).
As simple as that, could you believe it?

Thanks for this. I figured out the mismatch after the fact. I guess I was misled because the links available for download in this thread are actually for CM 10.1, and not for CM 10, despite the instructions. I can only assume that the get.com external link has been updated since the original post was made. The CM 10 for gapps 4.1.2 are no longer there, and I'm still trying to find it.

I'm operating on 4.2.2 with CM 10.1 and there are certain features that aren't working properly (namely, the disappearing apps and widgets on my homescreens). Maybe CM 10 on 4.1.2 might not have this problem. If someone can shed light on this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. But I have a feeling I'd just get "wrong thread" response.

Just clear the launcher data/cache.
Latest cm10 can be found on goo.im -> devs -> cm -> i9100.

I repeat: this is cm10 (4.1.2) thread, there's no other "latest" nightly newer than 20121216...
For any problem regarding cm10.1 (4.2.2) which is still under active development refer to cm10.1 thread.
