The thing is that i have battery drain because of mediaserver, i've read that clearing the data for it will solve the problem. But i can't find where to do this. It's not an app. Where do you guys clear the data for mediaserver. Will the drain really not come back after clearing data? I mean if you start playing music or videos that "app" will begin doing its ****, right?

Mediaserver does exactly what it says: It "serves media". So anytime you are playing a song it stops the phone from going into deep sleep when the screen is off. If you are watching a video it stops the screen from turning off. Mediaserver wakelocks are to be expected if watching lots of videos or listening to lots of music.

Think honestly that you go better without... you can always put it on again... if you see that it works for you...

More important thing you can do to improve battery life... use 2g, gprs off, gps off, underclock cpu speed at 1000mhz, disable lockscreen and touch sounds, use auto scrern brightness... freeze some system apps that you dont use and that are always running, like gtalk, etc... and install autostats to kill apps from running form boot, apps that you dont need them to boot up at evey boot...

Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Cheers thanks for that. I have basically all of that done at the moment. I have notices GTalk is running, is freezing it enough to stop it running all the time?

Also which other apps to you freeze that are usually not needed on the phone?

Which app would you recommend to under clock cpu to 1000mhz?

Thanks.

That's no surprise really... all those "battery saving" apps actually do not save battery at all, they waste it!

The camera mode change crash does not happen on the app "Camerea ICS".

The app is free from market with ads.

To me, it is a good workaround.

The link was posted after my post, you could have searched... Keep in mind you need a Samsung ROM to run this.

Notification power toggle - Mobiledata

Running latest build (0427), if I keep Wifi toggle on, then the Mobiledata toggle icon will not change state appropriately (e.g. disabled under Settings, but icon is still active). Only when Wifi toggle is off, it works as expected. Can anyone else confirm this behavior?

1. Disable both Wifi and Mobiledata toggle
2. Enable Mobiledata (OK)
3. Enable Wifi (OK), device will now connect to wifi instead
4. Try to disable Mobiledata (Failed). Icon stays highlighted
5. Check Mobile Data status under Settings. It's already disabled
