I was getting bootloops on 2 i9100 phones with neatrom v5.4.2. It started happening yesterday on both phones after several weeks that they operate smoothly. I had to wipe data to get them back to working state. Has anyone else encountered such problem?

had this issue
but in my case it was a corrupt download as i checked it with md5 checksum command on the terminal emulator
i hope this is the case with you too or else you might want to check up your kernel performance settings as the phone might be using up to much battery for the cpu processes .
i recommend u use ondemand and noop under performance settings after successfully installing the rom
ps- don't change the kernel . neat rom comes with a built in kernel
