Default [17/02/14] INDEX of KERNELS [Original Android & Android Development Forums]

Huge thanks to GaboWinter, the originator of this index thread. I will continue to update the index and build on his work

Hello community! Welcome to the Kernels index from the Original Android and Android Development Forums.

Please remember read all the information (the OP & first posts, and last 5-10 pages) of the threads of the kernel that you choose, that's the best way to avoid any issue.

« A few things to have in mind...

Please take a look on the next quote of SM crachel from his thread DO NOT POST A "What's the best ROM/Kernel/Theme?" THREAD!:

This applies to this thread too. Many users have been asking me about suggestions of the "best" ROM / Kernel, it's simple, I can't and I don't answer to that because that will be in my opinion, taking in count my usage, my installed apps, etc. And that isn't the same for you, it's different when some users only come to ask "Hey, could you suggest some light / overclocked / etc. kernel to try?" Then I can give some suggestions (various) based on the Index but nothing else, the final decision it's up to you.

Thanks for your understanding.

« Index Structure

I know that every Developer is free to choose the title of the thread as he/she wants, but it's really much easier for users (and of course for me) if the date and the version of the kernel continue as the main fields since I'm organizing the index by the date of the last update, with most recent being first. This is one example of an "ideal" title:

[KERNEL][AOSP - JB - MIUI][07/07]NAME OF THE KERNEL[EXTRA FEATURES]

I would really appreciate if the developers could organize their titles as the example above. Thanks in advance.

The index is divided in seven main categories:

- KitKat support

- JellyBean: Stock & AOSP support
- JellyBean: AOSP support only
- JellyBean: Stock support only

- MIUI

- ICS [Outdated]

- Gingerbread [Outdated]
