yes and when you will have this zImage file, put it on your internal SD, open your CWM app and select : flash kernel, choose on the list "zImage" and it will reboot

In which file, ROM or for root?

To do the actual rooting follow these instructions here:

You only use the zImage file after you have rooted to get rid of the pesky warning triangle during boot as per the instructions here:
