Yeah, Chainfire just updated his TraingleAway app for some SGS3 (US) versions/models and changed his signature that he is on vacation now (till Mid August).

Both kernels have nearly the same benchmark results in my tests.

Are you sure that KIES is not running - no Kies process should be active in TaskManager when flashing with Odin.
Try to flash the kernel again.
If it does not help, you may have to flash the whole ROM again.

Try the Stock XXKI3 from here (wipe) and check repartition with a pit file, mormally it will work, if not go to warranty or riffbox.
