Yes where are the camera audio files located?

Found it: /system/media/audio/ui

and the autofocus sound is here: /system/app/Camera.apk/res/raw/

and i found the camera.apk but it only allows me to install but not delete any file..

I think the Audio is really /system/media/audio/ui

I took screenshot whilst I was on the train and I got some strange looks when the sound went off. Quite embarrassing

just noticed i'm quoted in the op!! nice!! hah!

So why would you delete the camera sounds? Every phone works the same way, system sounds on = all sounds on, system set to vibrate/silence = sound off.

This local.prop file basically restores default behavior and disables the forced sound during silence, restoring the toggling.

IMO keep it simple, just silence your phone when you dont want sounds.. or lower the volume..
